An absolutely fabulous book on faith. This book goes beyond pop thinking, prosperity messages, and traditional sunday school notions of faith. Personally I think it introduces a whole new level of understanding of faith as illustrated by the personalities of the Bible. I think this book is destined to be a classic. One caution - do not let the easy reading style and succint summaries of Bible narrative cause you to miss the supernatural insights packed into this book. I read this book 3 times and now everytime I read the gospel narratives and old testament passages I think again on many of the insights that this book first gave. The opening discussion of David's faith is amazing considering I have heard this story over a 100 times without seeing what Shundrawn Thomas saw. Life changing faith in Christ is the most important concept in Christianity - read this book, have God change your life through a new understanding of His Word and then buy copies to give to your friends. This book will lead you to more than you expected and much more than you hoped for . . .but then again that's exactly what real faith in Christ should do!

Ridiculous Faith is a powerful book in which Shundrawn Thomas brings fresh insight to the Word of God. Bible stories and passages you may have heard a million times before take on a new meaning in this book. Ridiculous Faith opened my eyes to what it means to really step out in faith and follow God. The book is very well written and an enjoyable read. A true encouragement to all believers as we go through the highs and lows of living out our faith on a daily basis.

The beauty of this book is that the author explains key passages within the Bible in a way that is exciting and meaningful. I learned so much from this book, it actually fed my desire to read the Bible and understand it in a new way. He has a beautiful gift of interpretation. And the author's love for God is evident. Highly recommend this book, I look forward to reading it again and referring to it often.

A Powerful, Fresh Perspective on Faith from the Lessons Jesus Taught His Followers

“Ridiculous Faith” is the story of Shundrawn Thomas’ personal journey of faith. His story is based on illustrations on faith from real people introduced by Jesus in his teaching. Thomas presents the reader with a whole new level of understanding and a fresh perspective on important principles of faith exemplified by the lives of these Bible personalities. He provides guidelines for taking a spiritual inventory; self-examination and introspection for building trust, as well as exciting lessons on standing firm, and a challenge to” step out in faith to follow God.”

Shundrawn reveals the essence of faith in powerful, new ways as he processes the experiences of these Bible characters, their personalities, their abilities, hopes, strengths and weaknesses. I learned to put myself into their daily life circumstances to sense the unique ways that God dealt with their needs; needs common to us today. From the man born blind, I learned more of God’s mercy, love, and the importance of placing my confidence in the power of His word. I gained a new appreciation for the importance of complete dependence on Jesus as my Shepherd and a new level of trust. I also learned of the importance of listening for His voice through the lesson of the nature of sheep.

Thomas provides guidelines for application on the need to prioritizes and find a balance in a life of prayer, Bible study, worship, and service. He stresses the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus, and of allowing Him to orchestrate the circumstances in our live to reveal His truth and build our character in His image.

Thomas writes in a reader friendly style. “Ridiculous Faith” is stimulating, encouraging the reader to get more out of life while developing a rich, meaningful faith journey. Highly recommended.

This book was hard to evaluate. From the author, "God has equipped you with the perfect something that you need in order to overcome the criticisms of others and the doubts that emanate from within you. That something is ridiculous faith." The author's ridiculous faith seems like normal faith that each of us receives from God to follow His will. It seemed that when the author quoted Scripture it mentioned faith, but when the author related his understanding he spoke about hope. The author takes Biblical accounts and tells them with additional background information to give a fuller understanding. The target audience, in my opinion, seemed to be newer Christians. It certainly was not new revelation to me. I have read books on Seers, Prophetic, seeing in the Spirit realm, Healing, and Inner Healing to name a few. i was expecting 'ridiculous faith' to be the kind of faith that would see limbs grow and people set free from oppression... Where it would seem that it would be 'ridiculous' for God to do those amazing miracles through a human being. This book was not that kind of book. This book focused more on the basic of faith to reinforce our understanding.
Some of the Scripture seemed off. According to the author, "Paul realized that God ultimately causes the circumstances of life to benefit those who hope in Him (see Rom. 8:28)". According to the KJV version, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
The other challenge I had with the book is not supporting examples on some of the claims by the author. I do no have any specific examples to give.
