Overall this was a good book, but I think it needs more character development and detail. The author describes the heroine’s mother in a lot of detail, but then for the rest of the characters they don’t seem to be very developed besides physical descriptions. I would love to read more backstory on all of the characters and have a more developed plot line. Even though sometimes these romances have quick love stories, this one doesn’t show the development of romantic feelings very much. It kind of glosses over the good and mostly shows the arguments. I would also hesitate to call this an MC romance, which I originally thought it was. The MC is briefly mentioned a couple of times, but doesn’t really give anything to the story. I’ve also read a lot of MC romances, and none of them call themselves a gang, they all call themselves a club. I liked the book but wish it was more developed.

This is a well-written book with strong characters that are complex and appealing. There are twists and turns, drama and trauma that will keep you turning the page.

I received an Advanced Review Copy (ARC) of "Riding My Hero" and I can say that I read the novel in less than a day. The book is easy to read and keep you interesting in continue reading up to the end. In my experience, a book have to catch my attention or I get bore and stop the reading. I have to say that the first chapter was a little slow, the explanation or Harper arriving to her mother funeral, the description of Harper's life with her mother, step-father and "grand mother was a little slow but kept me reading. After that chapter, the action began and everything get intense and passionate.
This is the story of Harper and Lincoln. Harper is a 25 year woman that left her home in Connecticut to work in Milan, basically trying to escape from her life with her mother, step-father and grandmother. Growing up as an "unwanted child", the only good memory from her mother is a postcard from a place called Chino in California, the place that her mother was mysteriously happy. With the news of her mother's suicide", the possibility that her step-father killed her mom and the news that she inherited all her mom's money, her only choice is to escape and hide until her 26th birthday. The only place she thought was the place her mom was happy, Chino, California.
What Harper didn't expected was that his new landlord was the leader of a motorcycle gang, owner of a motorcycle shop, arrogant, and extremely handsome man called Lincoln. Lincoln hate spoiler rich girls, and that's exactly the description of Harper.
Since the first minute they interacted there were fire and passion. No strings attached, no commitment, no hope. But Lincoln had his own problems, keeping the town safe of a new gang that want to introduce a new drug spot.
He never wanted a serious relationship thinking that he was bad news and dangerous. But fall in love with Harper that already had a bullseye on her back. Her step-father wanted her dead to get money and will not stop until see her dead like he mom.
Do you remember the postcard from Chino, California? Don't forget about that because that is a piece of the puzzle that will change Harper's life.
This is a really good novel, full of steamy good moments, intrigue and love.
I really recommend it!

Riding My Hero by Alexa Hart is an amazing start to a thrilling new series surrounding the men of the Savage Souls MC. This story had it all romance, suspense, danger, betrayal and secrets. Harper returns home for her mother's funeral and her world is about to explode putting her life at risk. When she learns what her stepfather and his men are planning as she is being kept a prisoner, Hannah feels that her stepfather is involved in her mother's death. Things will come to a head when she inherits her mother's fortune putting her life in danger. Now she is forced to flee her home and go on the run with a mystery postcard from Chino left by her mother. When she arrives in Chino she meets Lincoln, leader of the Savage Souls MC hoping he and his club can help her. Lincoln is as bad as them come, hard, edgy and full of sex appeal but their meeting has these two butting heads from the beginning. The more time these two spend with each other, Lincoln and Harper are on a collision course as Lincoln finds that he wants this feisty woman for his own. The interaction and banter between these two is full of heated passion until neither one is able to resist the chemistry between them as they begin a relationship that is hard, fast and full of emotion . Now Lincoln and his men will do all they can to protect and save Harper as they have embraced Harper as one of their own when they learn that her stepfather and the men he has hired are coming for her. Will Lincoln save Harper in time? Will these two opposites have a chance for a future together? Between all of the twists and turns in this story, you will be on edge from beginning to end as secrets will be revealed, one that will have you guessing until the end. Well done Alexa Hart , love Riding My Hero and can't wait for the next book.
