But this one, there was no problem. Just a rock star who needed a break from everyone and decided to crash in a cabin and it was all based on the "Goldilocks" story line.
But read it for yourselves and be the judge.
Sela Reynolds is a pop star and used to getting what she wants when she wants it. She has learned from men in her life that they cannot be trusted. Her father abandoned his family when she was a young child, her brothers took the money she sent them for college and drank and gambled it away, a teacher tried to accost her and the told everyone she came onto him when he was caught. Then there is her lover who stole from her to buy gifts for his boyfriend. She has finally had enough and wants time away from it all to rest and put her life back together. She knows just where to go. Destiny, Texas is the place and the Cowboys For Hire is their service. She got a recommendation from her friend.
She finally tracks their location down and has her chauffeur drop her off. She sneaks into the house of brothers Bill and Carter Richland and their cousin William Richland. When they find her in the bathtub she spins a tale of Shawna and her woes and fears to convince them they need to protect her from an abusive and controlling boyfriend. Sela forgot that a little lie often develops into a bigger one and you can loose it all when trust is lost and you find the past has blinded you to the chance of a lifetime. Will the three men loose the woman that holds their hearts to glitz and glamor of the music world or will she let the past go and open herself up to the possibilities of a future with the three men who would do anything for her. They want to make her happy, but will it be too late?
Bill, William and Carter are the type of men most women dream of finding. They are honest, hardworking and have integrity. The fact that they are cowboys is only icing on the cake. I was kind of hoping there would be more suspense and intrigue in the plot, but it was more subterfuge and sexual tease. The characters are quite inventive and you will find many ideas on how to tempt a partner and enjoy yourself at the same time. I enjoyed book one, Cowboy Rescue and hope for more of that type of plot in book 3, Cowboy Rough. Perhaps it's the rescue of the damsel in distress fantasy we have carrying over into adulthood, but it has always been my favorite. You will find the cousins more than up to the job of keeping you safe while keeping your heart jumping as you read scenes so sexy and hot you will melt into a puddle. Pick up a copy for yourself, but be sure to wear your fire retardant gloves when you hold it in your hot little hands.
