Not authentic and arrived broken

First, I ordered 12 and 3 arrived broken. Second, and more concerning, is that the bottoms are stamped "Riedel 001", not simply "Riedel." Googling that, it turns out I was sold Riedel's "Restaurant Series" glasses that are only available at wholesale, not authentic Riedel Ouverture glasses. The former series of glass is sold for roughly $4 per glass while the latter type goes for $14-$15 per glass ($15 directly from Riedel). My hope is this was an accidental shipping mistake and will be immediately corrected by the seller. My experience on Amazon has always been great - I hope this isn't a sign of what's to come.

This was the first time we bought Riedel glassware. It will be the last. One of the glasses came out broken of dishwasher the second time we washed it. Our dishwasher is a top-of-the-line Bosch. I had never pulled out a broken glassware from it before.

I contacted their customer service. They very politely responded that it wasn’t their problem and I should contact Amazon!

I then questioned the truthfulness of their warranty. They responded with a gigantic discount code of 5% (which wouldn’t even cover shipping which was free on Amazon).

A few minutes after I started writing this review, I emptied the dishwasher. To my surprise, a second glass had cracked. These glasses are not dishwasher-safe...

What a joke. Flimsy product quality and unreliable customer service.

Never again for me. Thank you.

Small for a red wine glass, perfect for me ...

This is my favorite wine glass and I have been using the red wine version for years. This glass is perfect for everyday wine drinking, red or white wines are fine. Ice cubes? Go for it. It's a perfect 'intermediate' size, much closer to a traditional white wine glass than a red. You can pour yourself a nice small half glass, something like 125 ml. This is a small glass but the rim opening is wide and the glass is thin, so drinking is perfect. I really don't need another wine glass. But wine snobs will cringe drinking a good red wine from this glass.

I've ordered several sets of two over the years. Why? Although these glasses are fairly hardy for crystal, the bowl will break if you tip the glass over on granite or get a little too aggressive drying them. You can break the stem.

I love these glasses for drinking my beer! They hold the whole beer in one pour, the head is contained and the flavor is enhanced. I drink beer all over the world. In many places they will serve you a been in a similar shaped glass. This glass is as good or better than the glass I drank the excellent beer from. They are so refined, delicate and yet durable I really do like to drink my beer from them. I still can't believe how nice they are. It is a real treat to drink a beer from these beautiful glasses. Redel makes great glasses.

I think Reidel glasses have the perfect shape for enhancing enjoyment of any red wine. Compared to the Vinum (or higher) series of Reidels, and I find the shorter profile and slightly thicker (though plenty thin enough!) stems and bowls make it easier to focus on enjoying the wine, rather than worrying about tipping over or breaking the glass. They're only about ten bucks each, so it's no Shakespearian tragedy if one gets broken at a dinner party.

Very nice glass for daily use

This is our daily glass, fits well in our cupboard and not so expensive I worry about breaking them (but I don't let my teenage son wash them, he has a knack....). Crystal at a reasonable price, nice bowl shape, and not so big I over-pour - I love these. I hardly ever get out the larger glasses except for special bottles/occasions. Turns out many of the employees at my local marchand du vin also use these daily.

Although I am told these are dishwasher safe I always hand wash. 90% of those I have broken were broken in the washing process - be careful to not stress the stem or try to cram a sponge or cloth into the bowl and you will be fine.

For those expecting a larger bowl, can't believe you didn't look at the measurements in the listing and get a ruler out to see what it was. For my part, I am a repeat buyer so I knew what I was getting.

I feel in love with this glass after using it in a Steakhouse, and I just had to have it! These glasses are big, but not too big/comical. I love having a smaller amount of wine in my glass so that it may cool and breath, and these glasses allow me to have a heavier pour while still getting the same affect as a smaller pour in a regular sized glass. These glasses feel delicate yet sturdy enough that I am not afraid to use it. I think these would make an excellent gift for any red wine lover.

These are huge, but that’s a good thing. Lots of room to swirl. I’m tempted to get rid of all my other glasses because these are so much better. Was looking for the smaller glass in the second photo but apparently it’s no longer available from Riedel. That one was found at a thrift store and seemed quite large to me. These were as close to it as I could find and they dwarf it. Didn’t rate sturdiness and durability (is there a difference?) because I’ve used them only a few times, but I suspect they’re quite fragile. I wash them very carefully by hand.

Arrived when they said they would and in great condition. The glass is really fine and has a ring to it, like a fine wine glass when tapped.

Very pleased with the purchase though given their quality and fine glass nature, I’m not sure how long they’ll last from a dishwasher or breakage perspective, but if you’re looking for up-market beer glasses, these certainly don’t disappoint.
