Review

"The Right Person, Book 1 in the Montgomery Lake High Series by Stacy Padula, is a great read for teens and especially teens that struggle with self-worth. The Right Person introduces several young ladies and young men who are freshmen in high school, and they are caught in the crosshairs of coming-of-age and figuring out who they are in relationship to each other and to God as Christians--at least those who attend a church youth group. If you are a young person and you are struggling to integrate your faith with friends, both male and female, this is the book for you. You will easily relate to the characters in the Montgomery Lake High Series." - Lorilyn Roberts, Author"I recommend The Right Person to teenagers entering into or already in high school. There are important lessons in this book about the impacts of peer pressure and the ensnaring trap of drugs and alcohol. Under all the darkness of painful heartbreak and mistakes, there is a glimmer of the greatest hope available to mankind." - Mackenzie Wells, University of Georgia"The Right Person depicts the struggles many kids encounter during their high school years through the eyes of compelling characters. I recommend this book to both students currently in high school and middle schoolers preparing for these tricky years. It is a reminder of God's presence in our lives and the importance of seeking strength through him in times of uncertainty." - Kelly Mitchell, University of Notre Dame

About the Author

Author and entrepreneur, Stacy A. Padula from Plymouth, Massachusetts has accrued years of experience working with adolescents as a college counselor, mentor, life coach, and youth group leader. In 2019 and 2020 respectively, the International Association of Top Professionals (New York, NY) named her "Top Educational Consultant of the Year" and "Empowered Woman of the Year." She is the CEO and founder of both South Shore College Consulting & Tutoring and Briley & Baxter Publications-a publishing company that donates a portion of its proceeds to animal rescues each month. She is the author of the Gripped and the Montgomery Lake High young-adult book series. Her first novel, The Right Person, was published in 2010, followed by When Darkness Tries to Hide, The Aftermath, The Battle for Innocence, and The Forces Within. Throughout 2019 and 2020, she released a new series titled Gripped, which takes place in the same world as Montgomery Lake High but focuses on different main characters. Multiple Gripped books became #1 New Releases in their genre on Amazon. In 2019, she also wrote her first screenplay, an adaptation of her novel The Aftermath and worked on a pilot script for Gripped, which has been embraced by Hollywood producers. Stacy Padula was named "Top Inspirational Author of the Year" for 2022 by the International Association of Top Professionals (New York, NY). In June of 2021, she was broadcast on the famous Reuters Building in Times Square as "Empowered Woman of the Year." Her "Gripped" book series is currently being adapted for TV by Emmy-winning producer Mark Blutman.

She began writing her "Montgomery Lake High" books when she was a teenager because she saw a need for realistic Y.A. books that address topics such as substance abuse and bullying. After completing the "Montgomery Lake High" series, she began writing "Gripped," which serves as both a prequel and sequel to "Montgomery Lake High."

She is the founder and CEO of Briley & Baxter Publications, which donates 10% of its publishing royalties to animal rescues each month. She has edited and published a variety of titles, including Boston Bruins Anthem Singer Todd Angilly and Rachel Goguen's "The Adventures of Owen & the Anthem Singer," LaTonya Pinkard of Netflix's Last Chance U's "Nate & His Magic Lion," and former NHL player Norm Beaudin's upcoming memoir "The Original: Living Life Through Hockey." 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Series for Young Adults on Dating, Drugs, and Integrating Faith in Relationships
By Lorilyn Roberts on August 4, 2019
The Right Person, Book 1 in the Montgomery Lake High Series by Stacy Padula, is a great read for teens and especially teens that struggle with self-worth. The Right Person introduces several young ladies and young men who are freshmen in high school, and they are caught in the crosshairs of coming-of-age and figuring out who they are in relationship to each other and to God as Christians—at least those who attend a church youth group.

If you are a young person and you are struggling to integrate your faith with friends, both male and female, this is the book for you. You will easily relate to the characters in the Montgomery Lake High Series.

Although I am way past my teenage years, I enjoyed reminiscing about those days long ago, and I would have enjoyed reading this as a young adult. I would have learned some things early on rather than the hard way later, and it would have reassured me that many of my insecurities were natural and common, especially when it came to dating.

Author Stacy Padula does a great job understanding the difficulties that teenagers face, and I particularly liked the upbeat ending of The Right Person. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the Montgomery Lake High Series.
