After learning the truth of her parentage Sarah moved in with her grandmother and went back to school. She now works for a psychologist. There have been several rapes in the Dallas area during the last couple months. Two women died, but the last person survived-and Sarah is on the case.
Daniel Garret is a cop who is also on the case because of his involvement in the narcotics division of the police force. When the girls were raped they had heroin needles sticking out of them.
Daniel and Sarah think that this is a connection to Rudi Boyd- the owner of the strip club Sarah was forced to work at-and who is currently on death row for the death of Sarah's former fience.
After Daniel pays a visit to Rudi he realizes that Sarah is in danger and that he is the only one who can protect her.
While under police protection Sarah and Daniel become close and realize that there is a connection between the two of them.
While falling in love, Daniel and Sarah work together to find out who is behind these rapes, who the person in the police force contuinuing to give Rudi info about the case is, and the connection between the two and Daniels druggie brother.
All in all a very interesting book
Sarah clearly knew the life path she was on wasn't going to help her get over the events of the first book, but she continued to bottle things up and push all of her anger on that special cop, until another victim helps her to start seeing the error of her ways. After all of the drama and her cop going through his problems (which meant traveling the world for who knows how long while she waits for him to come to his senses) they declare their love for each other and of course get their happily ever after.
For what the book is it was worth the read for me and I would read it again.
