Up to 1Mpts Storage Depth

The standard storage depth of 1 Million points allows the user to give full consideration to the overall signal details, while maintaining a high sampling rate for a longer period of time. Zoom in to view small signal details in the complete waveform record.

1 GSa/sec Sampling Rate

The DS1000E sampling engine provides at least 5 X oversampling in any configuration with 10 X oversampling in 1 channel configurations using the full 1 GSa/sec at 100 MHz. Capture unexpected signal detail and zoom in for further analysis.

Adjustable Trigger Sensitivity

The unique adjustable trigger sensitivity function can effectively filter out the noise that may be superimposed on the trigger signal and ensure the signal can be triggered on correctly.

Waveform Recording and Playback Function

The waveform recording function of dS1000E series can not only record the input waveform of two channels, but also record the waveform of pass / fail detection output. Up to 1000 frames can be recorded, and better waveform analysis effect can be achieved through playback and save function.

Scope is great! Probes not so much...
Have used scope on many occasions with great satisfaction. Recently checked a 10 mhz signal for square wave and the waveform was WAY out of shape! That and another problem with that project sidelined that for a while. Another repair required checking a 1 mhz square wave signal and that was mishapen. Checked 1 khz square sample on scope was good, square and stable. Adjusted compensator capacitor on probe with little or no observable change. Tried adjusting on 1 mhz signal and got NO CHANGE! Fished out another set of probes and was able to compensate/calibrate for proper display of a square wave. The conclusion is the scope is great but the probes are junk!

Like many others here, I've used a lot of analog scopes over the years, and thought about buying another one of those. I'm glad I didn't, this thing is just amazing. The auto setups are pretty quick and work great most of the time, but if you want to dial in things manually that works, too. The capture and display settings make emulating delayed sweep and magnification easy. The measurements are simple, too, and it has an FFT function that while not perfect is pretty handy.

Some have said the fan is noisy, but it's not bad to me. It's quieter than most of my power supplies, similar to that of a PC.

All in all, one of the best test equipment purchases I've made.

I came from an analog scope and really like the advantages of a digital scope. The ability to capture a trace and inspect it at magnified levels is impressive. The Auto button is a great way to get the trace quickly in view and triggered. I have used the digital filter to clean up a signal but must admit that I still have questions about it. The "Acquire" menu allows quite a few choices in how the scope treats the incoming signal. I have found the "averaging" to be very helpful in cleaning up small high freq ripple and noise in the signal. The math function is great. The FFT function is worth the price of the scope. The FFT function allows you to choose what type of "Windowing" you want to get the frequency domain information you desire. There are so many cool things about this scope that you should get one and enhance your electronics experience.

I bought this one after having used a TEK 465B and a similar Hitachi analog scope. I like it pretty well. It's my first storage scope and I'm finding that aspect to be pretty useful, after finally taking the time to learn to use it. For the longest time I'd just press the AUTO button and let it set up everything automatically. But there's a lot more to the scope if you work with it.

My only complaint would be a bit of fan noise.

This "lunchbox" scope is really nice. It is rather old (been around for about 8 years when I bought mine), but does everything you need for general home lab testing and its very portable. There are some out there that are comparable with slightly wider screens, but this more "square" screen is perfectly adequate. Easy to set and control. Price is much more favorable than Tektronix equivalent, but the performance is similar.

Good buy. Stable accurate readings with easy to use controls at a great price. Prior to this I had been using second hand Tektronix o'scopes which are still good buys for tight budgets but decided to give this Rigol scope a try and I have not been disappointed. Over a year of constant use and its worked well.

Going from an old Tektronix 745 scope (circa 1972), I was amazed at the features on this scope for the price. Nice bright screen with good accuracy and intuitive controls. On screen displays for various voltage and frequency values was something I'd never used before. Perhaps it's just the contrast between my old manual scope and the new technology but i'm quite impressed. Since I only use such a device as a hobbyist, the two channels are plenty for me for 99% of my projects.

The oscilloscope is great, solid, not that noisy, Rigol makes good products. Unfortunately the item arrived with an European plug, so I had to buy one for the UK, that's why I'm leaving just 3 stars.
