This bandsaw is identical to the most recent Sears Craftsman 10" bandsaw. The only difference is the Rikon paint job which is probably worth $50, however Craftsman had this same model on sale for well under $200 recently. The price is also higher here because of "free" shipping. For the most part this is a well made machine; however there are a few issues.
One, the upper blade guide twists out of square when the locking wingnut is tightened. This may be solved with some disassembly and workshop engineering, but most folks would not be able to do this.
Two, the bearing guides do not allow adjustment for a 1/8" blade, although you can put a 1/8" blade on. The rear roller guide bearing doesn't come far enough forward, resulting in the outer bearings riding on the teeth and premature blade dulling. This alone almost defeats the purpose of having a small 10" benchtop bandsaw. Possibly more engineering might fix this.
Three, don't expect the table to be square to the blade or the machine either. Made in China means square, flat and true are not important.
Lastly, this will not re-saw anything larger than 4-5/8", meaning 2x6's are out, let alone the power is inadequate.
With a 3/16" blade or larger this is a good amateur hobby bandsaw. The sole reason I purchased this was to cut out a large number of pinewood derby cars for Cub Scouts, which it did very well, much quicker and easier than a scroll saw. For the cost vs. limitations, it is a good value, and because I have young boys it will be in use for years to come.

For price and functionality this is a great buy. I read some negative revues about this but then realized that said reviewers had either limited experience with this type of tool or were expecting it to perform like a full size production shop type model costing substantially more. You get what you pay for and this is right at the top of the range for a 10" bench top bandsaw.

I have had this saw for about eight-months now. Like several others who received the saw from the Pennsylvania "hub" the base of my saw was the opposite of flat. In fact there was almost a 3/8 inch deviation...the culprit -- the right rear corner. After briefly wondering which ancient deities I had inadvertently offended, I jury-rigged a series of clamps / fulcrums and left the tool in its make-shift "attitude adjustment" home for a week. Much to my dismay it only took away about half of the warp. After realizing it was a loosing battle -- and not wanting to go through hassle of returning it -- I decided I would just shim it out on the base I made for the stand. (RIKON 13-913 10-Inch Band Saw Stand -- a well-constructed item in its own right.)

Despite the warped base, once properly shimmed out, this saw performs far better than expected and the overall build quality and functionality are very good. While I have yet to have an opportunity to cut any eight-inch laminated maritime support beams, I have cross-cut and re-sawed various hard and soft woods up to three and one-half inches thick.

The Excellent:
1. Heavy sturdy construction.
2. Tracking adjustments do not require a PhD in Spatial Quantum Mechanics.
3. Dust port allows for the removable of most dust.
4. A cast iron table that in my case was flat and square.
5. Small footprint (compared to its larger sized cousins.)

The Good:
1. It includes a fence that can be adjusted properly at least eight times out of 10.
2. The Miter slot is adequately milled. (Although it is a non-standard size.)
2. Drift has remained almost constant.
3. Overall value versus other 10-inch band saws.
4.

I am a serious/advanced hobbyist, having only a 2-car garage to serve as my "shop". I work in both metal and wood. I had been needing a vertical band saw for the longest time just to be able to cut irregular shapes.
I already have a Shop Fox horizontal metal-cutting band saw (Model W1715)that easily handles all of my metal-cutting requirements....works vertically as well (in a pinch). So, I needed a nice vertical bandsaw, dedicated
to wood-use only. I even went down to one of the warehouse stores and purchased a smaller 9" bandsaw, but never opened it. It was a total POS with lots of plastic parts. Somehow, someway, I happened on this Rikon 10-inch
model, watched some vids on YouBoobTube, and determined it was a much better unit than what I had just bought. After all, this 10-inch comes from a line of much larger bandsaw models from Rikon. So I bought it, and returned
the POS back from where it came for credit.

I was pleased to see that it was all-steel construction, even the doors. A blade was already on this saw, which I removed and replaced with a much better blade from Olsen. Very easy to change blades, that is, if you've done
it before, which I have. This saw cuts through much thicker wood than I'll ever throw at it, and is quite handy and well-made. Initial set-up does require some tweaking of the upper and lower bearings for correct clearances,
and all of this is explained in the book.

I don't really have much to complain about....would have liked to seen a light attached to this unit, and, the table leveling device could be a bit better, but all in all, I was able to get the blade square with the table.
I may replace the bearings as they seem a bit noisy, but I'm in no hurry to do this.
