Now, those 3 months were filled with some good times. This board is very smooth, and after putting in some 81a bushings cone/barrel out in front (left it stock in back for stability), it felt right at home carving down the streets to this snowboarder. I rode a couple other longboards in the duration, but I always found myself going back to this board....it was just so fun! And I was so low off the ground, that pushing was very easy. The ABEC-11 bearings could spin for days. I replaced the wheels with Sector-9 Butterballs for easy sliding, but the stock wheels were awesome too.
But one beautiful spring day, when I was about ready to go down the block, I just cruised a couple feet and felt a thud! My journey was over. The layers must've delaminated and cracked open. The tail was done for. RIP. (3 months? Seriously?)
Rimable sent me a new replacement claiming they have used stronger wood. The new Q3 2016 version has a slightly sharper point on the edge. I have been using it for a month
and it is holding up fine so far. I guess I'll update this when I've been using it for a couple more months. I just wanted to at least mention that they have hooked me up
with a replacement board and that is better than most other companies.
First off it got here earlier than I expected and was rolling smoothly as soon as it was out of the box. I have already been down a big hill and have found no problems. The only thing that I did not like was that the steering was a bit to loose for me, but I tightened it up a little bit and it is riding very well and very fast.
After a couple days (about 4 hours), one of the wheel bearings is making noise under load.
Trucks break-in pretty quick and wheels are smooth on the road. Nice feel to the board overall while riding.
