Color: Bluffing

I purchased the color "bluffing". The shadow stick arrived and it was not sealed, which I thought was strange, but it didn't look used, so I didn't worry about it. The "bluffing" color appears a like an antique champagne pink color online, but it's more of a pinkish purpleish brown color in person. It is still pretty, but I did expect a slighter different color. In one of my attached photos, I did two swatches on my hand. The first (top) swatch is just rubbing the stick on my skin, and the second swatch is rubbing the stick on my skin and then blending it out with an eye shadow blending brush. The product goes on very smoothly, and you don't have to apply much pressure, but it is a little harder to blend out -- it takes some work. Overall, it is a nice product and it does stay in place.

I honestly love this shadow stick, trespassing taupe is my baby. It is the perfect creamy matte neutral, not too warm and not too cool. Super quick to apply and it does not crease or smudge at all throughout the day. It looks the best if you apply it to one eyelid at a time and use a fluffy brush to quickly blend it out before it dries. Don't skip the blending! This product also doubles as a primer, because any eyeshadow I put on top of it seems to last much longer. Trespassing taupe is also a good color to put on your waterline to neutralize any redness without it being super obvious you have on eyeliner.

If you've ever tried the Maybelline Color Tattoo shadows in the jars, the creamy beige shade from that line is very similar to trespassing taupe. However, the formulas are totally different and I think Rimmel's formula is much easier to work with.

I posted a swatch picture of the trespassing taupe color. It's pretty versatile – you can build it up for a dark, intense taupe shade or you can apply it lightly and blend it out for a wash of color.

Side note: If you need a sharpener, get the "duo sharpener" by Essence, it's a perfect fit for this pencil. They sell it at Ulta for $1.99.

LOVE this stick (I use it for eyeliner rather than shadow). Only thing I don't like is that it has to be sharpened. It's a gorgeous color brown (almost dark chocolate colored) and is perfect for someone wanting to get away from black eyeliner (raccoon eyes), lasts me the entire work day with no smears or runs

I purchased 3 brands of eye shadow sticks and figured i would include a comparison of all of them in each the review.

N.Y.C. New York Color City Proof 24 Hr Eye Shadow, Rockefeller Center Snowflakes: This arrived broken. The eye shadow part was loose inside the pencil. I love the color of this, however it doesn't last at all throughout the day.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick, Bluffing: This shadow stick is awesome. Of the three reviewed here, this is the only one that was still on my eyes at the end of the day. I love how smooth it is when you apply it and I love the color. Will purchase in other colors.

Almay Intense I-color Shadow Stick, for brown eyes: I adore the colors but it doesn't last long and the pink side ran out way before the brown side.

Ordered this in Bulletproof Beige, the shadow is SUPER easy to apply as well as using it to dot the inner corners of your eyes. Def recommend along with Trespassing Taupe. Don't be fooled by the word beige in the name. While neutral, it is a pleasingly bright eye color with a low-key sparkle. Nothing dull about this beige!

The casing on this particular pencil is made of more of a plastic material, so it requires a *very* sharp large pencil sharpener. I have another scandaleyes shadow stick that is made of a less plasticy material, and is easier to sharpen - I can sharpen that with my normal sephora sharpener. I can't use the same sharpener with this pencil.

I really like this product but instead of using it as eyeshadow I use it as eyeliner. I hate black, skinny-like eyeliner because I feel like it’s just too harsh looking and makes me look older. This product creates a thicker line and the dark brown color is more flattering on me. It does not run and is easy to apply, plus it’s cheap. Love it, I’ve already bought an extra to save for later.

I have bought several colors of the Rimmel Scandaleyes and have been pleased with all of them. The formula is creamy and doesn't crease. It glides on pretty easily. Sometimes I use it alone on my lid (on minimal makeup days) and other times I combine it with a little darker or lighter powder to give some depth and dimension to my eye makeup. It seems to last a long time, not just per application, but per stick. It helps to keep the tip sharp for more precise application. I will continue purchasing these, especially for the price point.
