Now for the finale, "You Light My Fire". For those of you who are mad because you can't get it, I'll tell you how you can, but really, you're wasting your time in my opinion. But if you're like me and anal and HAVE to complete your collection, just email the author and tell her you have all the other books and need the finale. She'll send it to you for free. Her email address is included in the book description for the omnibus collection of these books. As for the book itself, it's a novella, not a full length book, which for me is great because I'm so glad to be done with these books. It actually doesn't have much of a plot, it's more a way to introduce Luke as a "real" character because the author plans to give him his own series of books. Luke comes across in this book as a bit of a jerk (with good reason I'll grant you), and the villain is so glaringly obvious there is no suspense really. The only positive---Erin and Nate finally get married.
I found myself so caught up in the story in the first book that I just kept going. Playing With Fire (book 1) and Ring of Fire (Book 3) are my favorites.
This book was a real rollercoaster ride. Following Nate "the Big Dog" Stryker's life is always interesting, but when I figured out right away who his CO was, I thought this was going to be predictable. SILLY ME... Alpha males, strong woman, drug cartels, racism, etc. You name it, you got it.
Besides all of the steamy bits, the story in a Taylor Lee book is just plain intriguing. You get to run the gambit of emotions, right along with her characters. There is great camaraderie between the group of secondary characters that move from book to book. No worries. There is a love story involved. Not one of those sickly sweet ones either. Rough and tumble, up and down, funny, serious, loyalty and strength, intense and exciting. Never boring.
******My recommendation is to purchase the Omnibus Collection which will give you all of the books in the All Fired Up series, including the last one, You Light My Fire. The last one seems to only be sold as part of the collection, not a stand alone. I now need to figure out how to get the last novel without having to buy the omnibus collection.*********
I'm moving on to the Blonde Barracuda series to see how I like that one.
Ring of Fire is a bad adaptation of the movie Road House. Where Nate probably looked like Patrick Swazey he definitely did not have the class of Dalton. In the end Nate was not much better than the evil he was to be protecting his loved ones from.
In Playing with Fire Erin was a strong intelligent woman. The author made her nothing more than another of Nate's sex toys. The Lucy and Ricky relationship that Nate and Erin's relationship turned into was both frustrating and sad. Yes Nate was consider to be a "caveman" but treating his partner like a child was neither funny or satisfying.
Let me start by saying I am not a prude by any stretch of the matter. I found Erin and Nate's physical relationship read like an article in Penthouse Forum or a how to manual. There was nothing loving and tender. I got to the point where I began skipping over them.
The reason I gave this story 3 stars is because as the story began to climax Ms. Lee did begin to show Nate as a human showing true emotion and not some Neanderthal.
Read the story if you want to finish the series. Just don't have high expectations.
