I filled a 5 gallon water container about two-thirds full of tap water from the campsite then topped it off with boiling water. When I plugged in the adapter to my vehicle cigarette lighter and started up the pump, I was pleasantly surprised to even have water coming out of the shower head. Note: the thing looks pretty flimsy and as if it is made out of cheap plastic so I did not expect much from it...but deliver it did.
After showering myself and my three small children, about a quarter of the water remained in the 5 gallon tank. Wow. Of course I used the water sparingly, turning it off when not rinsing, but I was still surprised we used so little water for the four of us. As we were getting into our fresh change of clothes before bed, smelling of my manly moisturizing body wash, I observed a look of humility and jealously spreading across my wife's face. The camping trip was extended- and eventually an additional shower enjoyed by each of us prior to going back into civilization.
If this thing gives me no more than the two showers I personally got out of it- it was worth every penny. You can't put a price on that shower fresh feeling.
BTW: any complaining about the switch being in an awkward spot can be disregarded. This is a (plus or minus a few) $32 shower. It will do the job when no one wants to be around you because you stink like a monkey cage after a primate poo fight.
Ok all bad things come in threes. I was laid off my job jan 2014,really bad winter we were having, thought ok ill hybernate a month, since it's cold the hit the streets job hunting. of course my pipes froze and burst, so now no running water.(never let anyone tell you, once you buy a house you won't want to rent again....you will ) Started going 8 miles to my sons house to shower. He has a girlfriend. So that joy was fading fast. Lucky for her my radiator went. So no job, no water no car no money. Ain't life grand? Anyway since i'm not really one who sees any merritt in wineing, i looked for affordable solutions to help, till i could get a hold of my finances.
I found this, this little diddy is wonderful i was skeptical, because some reviews said it didn't have much pressure. However at that point, i just needed to get clean without the travel. Got it in like 5 days, got me a bucket an went in the basement. Filled it, heated on stove. Headed into the bathroom. Popped in the battries, set the pumpm on the sink. droped the filter in my bucket, hung the showerhead in my shower with a suction hook from the dollar store. The one included is not good. Turned it on . Nice. Came out clean, feeling more self sufficient, and a whole lot less depressed! It's the little things i tell ya. Also my daughter put on the ac jack an plugged it in, OMG now we were cooking with good pressure. So batteries ok...ac jack, wonderful! Great product!! Used it a year, before i was able to fix pipe situation. No problems. Was a little sad to put it away last month. Would definitely buy again.
