About the Author

Trudi Jaye loves writing about quirky characters who are smart enough to get out of the crazy situations that she puts them in. Her stories generally end up a mix of genres, but are mostly Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy - although they always include a bit of romance, and often have mystery and adventure in them as well.
She's been writing since she was a kid, and telling stories to herself for even longer - she distinctly remembers sitting at the base of a big oak tree when she was little, using the acorn hats to create bowls and other implements to go in the fairy houses that she had created.
When she's not writing, she can be found going for walks in the beautiful New Zealand forests where she lives, spending time with her lovely husband and her cheeky young daughter, and of course reading...
She also does yoga, although she's not very bendy, and karate, although she doesn't like the idea of hitting anyone.

I just finished this book, and let me tell you, I wish it wasn’t over. This is one of those books that you mourn when it is done. From the minute I picked it up I could not put it down!

I would like to applaud the author for coming up with a story line that I had never seen before. Most books I read, while I enjoy them very much, are not something really new. I had never read a story with the magic carnival before.

You would think a story about a magic carnival would be hokey, but so not the case with this book. And normally when I think of a Carney, it doesn’t paint a very pretty picture. In this book, the carnival has very beautiful and poignant characters.

This book crosses several genres. At heart it is a paranormal, but it is also a beautiful romance and an exciting and intriguing mystery. I can’t wait to read the next one!

This book has everything I love - magic and mystery, excitement and romance. It drew me in right from the start and was hard to put down. This is no ordinary carnival, and I really liked the magical touches that made it so different. I'll definitely be getting the next book in the series when it comes out.

I received this book from the author and from Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock.
I'm giving this book 5 fangs. I couldn't put it down.
Ringmaster is full of suspense, romance, magic and intrigue. As Rilla and Jack compete to be the ringmaster of the carnival they also have to become allies against the saboteur.
The carnival was magical and the author brought it and the carnies to life brilliantly. This is the first book in the series, but although it wasn't a stand alone it didn't really have a cliffhanger.
I loved this book and am looking forward to enjoying the second when it releases. I would recommend this to anyone who reads paranormal suspense/romance NA and Adult.

I have a love/hate relationship with circuses because of the animal issues but if I didn't have to worry about the poor things being mistreated, I'd immediately say that if I could see a circus every day for the rest of my life, I totally would. And this book only enhances my love for the show.

'Ringmaster' was just amazing. If it wasn't for the fact that I could count the technical errors I found on one hand, it's the way Ms. Jaye wrote the story, luring me into what I already find a fascinating world unlike our own. The carnies truly are a different part of us Ordinary, a mystical group of families living solely on the belief of magic and gratitude for life. The detective work Rilly and Jack found themselves doing was great, along with all the other things they had to solve before everything went to Hell. The writing was swift but lingered where it mattered, and her antics were so intense, there were times when I wanted to slap her myself just to see that she gain the confidence I knew she had in her. It was a really amazing read.

The frustration and anxiety built nicely for me with the characters and although there were times when I really didn't want to see some things happen, they still came to pass, and it was handled in a way that didn't leave me so heartbroken or aggravated. And the ENDING... it really did shift my perception, and saying goodbye to the last few pages of the book really did feel like I was having a teary moment of saying goodbye to the Ringmaster as they finished their show. *bawls*

I'm pretty sure the ending set me as a forever fan and I'll definitely be getting the next one. Complex characters, interesting plots and twists, great romance (and non-romantic instances yikes) and if you're a lover of carnies... you'll regret not reading this.

This idea was unusual as it took elements most of us are familiar with such as the carnival and a circus and turned them on their head! Mixing in Magic, Majick, and of course other paranormal ideas results in a very well developed story line with some nice plot twists. I liked the main characters and they felt pretty real like I could actually meet them at a circus someday. The strains of paranormal were in everything they were and what they did, well done integration. There was a few things I felt needed more development and back story but it didn't effect the flow too much. I would have liked to understand the reason behind the sabotage a little better, but we get to know why as the characters learn why and even they don't know the full extent until the second book, which I have also read and liked. It does have a dark side to it but what good mystery doesn't! Enjoy.

I truly enjoyed the unique theme for this book! A fantasy carnival with magic, mystery, betrayal, and just enough romance to make it interesting but not smutty. Very original plot line, the alluring descriptions reminded me of the intriguing beauty of Cirque de Soleil with a more rustic traveling carnival feel. A quick and easy read, I was sad that it was over but happy to know there are already additional books in the series. The author also seems to be a quick writer, new books are coming out every few months.

Purchased this on my Kindle and when you sign up for the authors email club you get The Gift (Book 2) book for free. I've read all of the books in this series to date and enjoy receiving updates from the author on this series and her other series via her email club!
