Akin to many fitness kickboxing gyms, mine sports wooden floors...making shoes a necessity. Even as a veteran Muay Thai kickboxer, my puppies can't take the pounding from the jumping these classes require.
Nearly every athletic shoe on the market, however does not flex enough to allow posting on the ball of the foot and/or provide significant padding for poorly placed banana bags.
The FightPro check both boxes...but at a literal and build quality cost. First things first: these are not cheap. But when there's nothing else out there...be grateful they exist. I almost want to buy 3 pairs to ensure Ringstar stays in business and/or prepare if they shut down.
On fit: these are meant to be tight...and stretch after 2 weeks. Do NOT buy bigger sizes. It's dangerous when doing sparring and/or movements requiring good foot feel. I called the company - who was very responsive - and advised to wait it out. After 4 days of use, they fit like a glove. Speaking of said customer service, they remain awesome. Very responsive to emails...and stand by their products 100 percent.
The padding at foot instep is OUTSTANDING, essential as this is where the majority of kicking injuries occur. Even after 6 months, the padding is holding up nicely.
What is not holding up well are the ultra thin foam bottoms. I understand these meant for mats where friction isn't as prevalent. Wood, however, eats right through them. Almost immediately I required a pair of insoles to compensate for the reduced padding also complete absence of arch.
After 6+ months of 3x a week use, these look like they've been through a war. Bottoms are thin and dirty, tongue area stripped away.Read more ›
We ordered the same Ringstar size 7 black from Century Martial Arts and the Unisex 7 fits fine with about .75" in the toe.
As far as quality she had her 8's for about a year. Wore them a few hours twice a week. The sewn loop side of the velcro on the shoe started unraveling and pulling away on both shoes. The rest of the shoe looks brand new. We'll see how long the black ones last.

I like these very much. They fit well and they were what I was looking forPublished 12 days ago by Paul M.
Sizing is much smaller than expected. I wear a 10 1/2 normally and ordered this shoe in an 11. The size 11 is so tight both width and length that it fits more like a 10. Read morePublished 29 days ago by Chip B.
The shoes are nice. A bit snug, but once broke in they fit well . Though I am aware of the reason for the high top design I would prefer a lower profile. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Nior
