This publisher is apparently a "literary agency" that seems to specialize in putting backlists back in circulation in ebook form. In this case, the author could have done a better job himself.
For tanj sake, Spectrum, hire a proofer. If you show this little class and respect to a major title from a major name, I can't imagine what you do to smaller ones.
The idea behind the story is wonderful and probably limitless, but I didn't like the delivery. I did appreciate how much real science was mixed with sci-fi in the details, but the story just didn't seem to hold together from chapter to chapter.
I'm hoping that the printed versions of these books weren't riddled with all of the typos and missed punctuation that the kindle version suffers from. When someone is hired to enter a book digitally, it should still be proofread, not just run over once with a spellchecker.
I had previously believed there were just 3 _great_ hard sci fi authors - Asimov, Clarke and Heinlein, but there are 4.
This book caused me to delve into Ringworld parameters like nothing I have ever done before.
This book made me shell out about 100 dollars to buy ALL of Larry Niven's books, so that I could read them in order.
I loved it then. I love it now.
Hard sci fi with a nice dose of xenoanthropology and psychology. A good quest. Wonderful characters. Incredible world.
A must-read for any sci fi fan!
