I think this volume might be even better than its beloved predecessor, rise up singing, because it has more recent favorites and slightly better chord notation. But I consider both Rise Again and Rise Up Singing essential, and have multiple copies of each to pass around.
Note that the songs are mutually exclusive between the two books.

With 1200 songs, can't fault it for choice and the ring binding makes it easy to use.
No notation. Just words and chords, which, if you can't read music, like me, is all you need. Obviously you have to know the song in the first place.....
