I never write spoilers in my reviews, but I will say Rise of the Nephilim: Fire and Blood is full of action sequences and a struggle for right and wrong. Ms. Paige has left us wanting, and I'm assuming there's a sequel in the making.
I can't wait to read the next one!
On the other hand, it has some technical issues which I just could not get past. It's infested with commas. Far too many commas, placed in odd, random places. It seems like a very small thing, but it kept coming up and yanking me right back out of the book again and again. It's a jarring and constant attack on my suspension of disbelief for something that should have been an easy fix during editing.
Let me begin by telling you what Nephilim are, they're half human half angels. Maxine is an unhappy bullied teenager who has no clue who or what she is. She begins to find out the day of her 18th birthday when she's unexpectedly drawn to her "father"in the catacombs that travel under New York. Her memory of her previous life is erased and she's renamed Sarai. There love, redemption and the power to save the human race all on one young girl's shoulders. This is as much as I'll say to avoid spoilers, but I will say this is action packed and has more twists and turns than a mountain road. Definitely a different take on the fallen angels verses humanity.
Love this book. Love the nephilim and the different kinds of Angels. Great conflict and backstory. There are quite a few grammatical errors but still easy to read and enjoy.
