I couldn't put it down. This is something I could read over and over. Full of interesting characters from humans to penguins. Truly a one of a kind book. Never a dull moment. -- Amazon reviewer I was completely enveloped in a new, exciting world. The author does a great job at both capturing almost cinematic experiences, while at the same time delivering a multi-layered plot that keeps you intrigued all the way through.--Amazon reviewer For science fiction/fantasy fans, this is a must read series. Chapter after chapter is filled with excitement, intrigue and suspense. Steven Hammond has given penguins emotions ranging from humor to anger and you will marvel at the camaraderie, loyalty and devotion to their cause he has brought. Humans sympathetic to their plight, poachers looking to make a buck and mercenaries are also in the fray. -- Amazon reviewer --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

The premise is different than anything I've read. Penguins? But, the writer created the characters and blended them with reality in such a way that any thoughts of thinking this is too bizarre fades as quickly as you turn the page. The only downside I would give this novel is the size. For some, 700 pages might seem intimidating. But the author delivers the story in "bite-sized" chapters which gives the reader ample opportunity to pause. (Think James Patterson). And the only time I did pause while reading this was to take care of holiday shopping and to sleep. I truly hope there is more to come from this author.
