And for the reason this is two stars: I'm all for goddess worship, but I can't believe the author is advocating the outdated and debunked matriarchy theory (Look up Margaret Murray for more information) and the VERY debunked Burning Times. It might be nice to believe that there is an "Old Religion", but it just isn't true. At best, it's a revolutionary historical theory that needs A LOT more investigation and at worst, a wishful conspiracy.
Rise Sister Rise focuses on the feminine divine - goddesses, the healer, the witch, the priestess, the mother - reading this book really empowers! I adore all the affirmations, mantra's , and soul searching questions. Overall a lovely book well worth the buy!
And I have to say, this book is on point. It's like an anthem for all the lady lightworkers out there. If I could give it to any woman feeling down on her purpose, this is the gift I would give. It's a manifesto really, written like a long written poem, with a very Maya Angelou esq feel to it. Rebecca Campbell is a great writer, leader, and motivator - and this book is a great contribution to all the great works of feminine leadership - The Wise Wound, Women Who Run with Wolves, etc. Over her previous work, Light is the New Black, this book takes it one step up . So I'd say get it. And if you're looking for more books to add to your collection, I'd say this one goes hand in hand with Danielle LaPorte's The Desire Map.
