Fast forward to present day and Savannah is still very much in love with Jeremy and she has to subject herself to watching him with Charlotte, Emmy's waitress and Jeremy's girlfriend. I understood Savannah was in love but I thought she was a bit immature when it came to Charlotte. You let him go so you can't get mad when he tries to move on.
But when Savvy starts spending time with a new lawyer at her firm, Jeremy has had enough, he's done doing things Savannah's way. I was happy with the new development as I thought Savannah would be more stubborn. But she still has to let us in on her secret. Personally, I thought if she didn't tell him seven years ago then she should have taken it to her grave. But it was obvious the guilt has been eating away at her all these years.
Then when she finally gathers the courage to confess, she lost everything just as she feared. I shed a few tears for Savvy. It was heartbreaking. She made a mistake but Jeremy and Emmy's actions following their initial anger and shock weren't fair. At this point Savvy won me back again and I wanted to punch everyone on her behalf.
But it all worked out. I was happy with the ending. Out of everything that happened my biggest issue with the book was I just kept thinking, "Why in the world was Charlotte at the country club?" Haha. I hope Trevor and Lizzy are the next couple in the series. Well done!
After meeting Savvy in book #1 in the series I couldn't wait to read her story and find out what the history between her and Jeremy was....
I was taken by them both from the start. I'm a big fan of dual POVs and this gave us a great insight to both characters....
When we first came across Savannah she was the supportive, strong, funny & smart mouthed friend of the group but we soon discover in 'Rising' that there's a lot more to her than meets the eye.
We hadn't seen much of Jeremy in PUTP so we didn't know much about him or why he and Savannah weren't together.... just that there still seemed to be something between them.
Secrets and heartbreak have kept this pair apart for 7 years - they still love each other but could they ever overcome what had happened and get back together?!
'Rising' had me laughing & crying in equal measures. Savvy's stubbornness annoyed me at times (I just wanted her to stop being so hard on herself). Jeremy's determination was endearing but he did a couple of things that ticked me off - saying that, it never stopped me from rooting for them!!!
Once again, we had the supporting cast made up of all of their friends with the introduction of a couple of new faces that I'm looking forward to reading & finding out more about.
I can't wait to see who's next up - am hoping it's Trevor & Lizzy!!!
Rising From The Ashes is another well written, captivating story from Jessica and I loved every twist and turn it had me on!!!
I am totally in love with Jeremy!!! That man is so swoon worthy!!! He is with out a doubt the perfect southern Gentlemen. He went Alpha when need and then became all soft anf gooey when it came to Savannah. ( who I would love for a BFF) But never led a woman ( Charlottes) to think there was more to them then there was. A slap to the face or a broken nose he's the best
Savannah that woman is a hell of a spit fire. She never glossed anything over and she made an Alpha male shake in his boots. Just awesome
