The trick is that the players have to mark the cards they want to obtain with their adventurers, before they actually roll the dice.
Assessing risk and reward, using the right equipment and finding the best locations to place your adventurers will be key to win a game of Risky Adventure. Who will be the most famous adventurer in the end?
Risky Adventure is an exciting treasure hunt dice rolling game for the whole family.

Place your three adventurers on the different locations of the game board before you roll the dice. Did you roll the symbols you needed to gather equipment or artifact cards or advance on the expedition track? You can change the symbol of a die by using a clock from your storage.
In the camp you can place your adventurers to gain equipment cards. Equipment discount cards give you a discount and serve as an additional die for a specific excavation site. Equipment bonus cards give you a bonus either for excavations or on expeditions. You can gather scarabs for victory points here as well.
Place your adventurers at the three excavation sites to earn artifacts. Artifacts give you victory points and sometimes clocks, used for turning dice. Artifacts are needed as well to activate some equipment discount or bonus cards. At the end of the game artifacts are used to fulfill treasure maps and thus earn even more victory points.
Advance on the expedition track to earn victory points, clocks, wild cards or treasure maps. Each game is started with a random expedition. When one of the adventurers reached the end of the expedition track, a second expedition with a different reward distribution is put into play.

Top customer reviews
Things to mention: It is a game that each player plays mostly independently of other players, so the competition is all about how things end, not as much about each turn. It is all high-quality pieces made in Germany, so you get thick, solid cards and player pieces. The game consists of many components, so get some baggies to keep yourself organized.
It does have a lot of strategy, but you won't realize it until you're playing and notice you can focus on collecting artifacts for points, or focus on getting discount cards for "bonus" dice rolls so to speak, or focus on bonus point cards, or focus on completi,g expeditions, or try to complete treasure maps... There's a lot of strategy--something some other reviews don't seem to mention, but I think they may have gotten lost in the rules.
I will encourage you to watch the prices on this game as they fluctuate a tremendous amount, and anything in the $10 or less range is definitely a steal for this game, although a big fan of games with good themes and strategy thrown in will be happy to pay $15 or $20 for this.
I played this game with my 6 years old, and it was a good game.
Not my top 10, but a solid fun game.
I can recommend this game if you do not have a lot of kids games, or if you play a lot with kids, and need variety
It takes a while to play which is nice-so many games are too quick.
Only problem- directions are not very clear.
I only figured out how to play by going on line and even that was not as clear as it could be.
Recommendation to Queen Games - Create a short tutorial (maybe 2 or 3 rounds of play with strategies and tips of how to select locations for the players, what to choose after the dice roll, etc.) and post on your website. If this was available, this would be a 5 star game!
