I couldn't resist, and I did test the calendar with a few droplets of water, and it works--no watermarks, no evidence of any water damage. All my pocket calendars in previous years really suffered from my morning java spills--something else that has not changed in all these years. Looks like 2018 will be different and my pocket calendar won't look like it fell in the mud a few times!
Anyway, I love the format of the calendar, durability and overall style. The room to write things inside is cramped, but that's the downside of a pocket calendar. Everything considered, I'd definitely recommend the Rite in the Rain All-Weather 2018 Pocket Calendar. Makes a great stocking stuffer, too!
As for the water resistant claim to fame, well I had to test is by pouring water on a page and darn if it didn't bead up and run right off. Also, I find the paper is nice to write on with both a traditional ball point pen and a pencil. No skipping or line blurring due to the paper in my experience. But boy is this an expensive little planner.
For those who may not know how this paper works, you can write on it in pencil or pen, even if it's wet, and even if it's raining or snowy, and you won't have a problem. I usually wait to erase anything until it's dry if I need to erase, as the eraser may smudge the page a bit.
Other standard features:
-holidays for 2018, as well as equinoxes, solstices, time changes, and tax day, etc.
-unit conversions in the back
-ruler on back cover
The paper is easy to write on and takes the pencil well. I did not try it, but non-smearable pens are available for use with this notebook.
Good all weather cover.
Pages are a little tight but once I start using it, it should be more flexible.
Doesn't have room for addresses notes &
