Excellent features, quality... mmmm....

I bought this thermostat a couple of years ago, because at the same comfort temperature setting, the changes in humidity would make things uncomfortable. The 6080 has humidity control.
During this time the only frustrating thing about the thermostat has been the non responsive touch screen. The plastic housing deforms with time and touches the touch screen rendering some controls inoperable. A lil forcing of the faceplate outwards, will make the thing work again.
Battery life, excellent. It got even better after I installed the C wire to use the remote, because the batteries work as back up only.
The moisture control operates in one of two jumper selectable ways. In one mode, the a/c turns on when either the temperature or the humidity call for cooling. This option allows the A/C to run even when you set your temperature higher to save power... does this make any sense? TIn the other mode, the a/c turns on only if both moisture and temperature call for cooling. I use the second system because it allows me to set a range for moisture and make the a/c work only when the programmed temperature is set for comfort, turning off when the programmed temp is higher. Just set the temperature a couple of degrees lower than normal and let the moisture control take charge. The humidity reading differs from actual humidity values read with a reference hygrometer, but works very well.
This thermostat has selectable program options that allow for 2, 4 and 6 freely programable daily time slots.
It also has the actual temperature calibration feature, that allows the reading to be adjusted to a reference thermometer.
It has UV light, Filter, Moisture Pad, adjustable reminders and Daylight savings time setting.
It beeps on touch but you can disable this feature.
You can lock to prevent program changes or temperature setting overrides
It has the auto change function that allows automatic cooling or heating depending on the actual temperature.
You can have two cooling stages and two heating stages, works with heat pumps as well.
The user interface is very intuitive and easy to program, having a copy function and an auto program review.
Because of the features, I give this 6080 thermostat a 5 star rating. Because of the touch screen problems I will take 1 star off.
I have another TempRite thermostat in the house, 8035C, touchscreen as well, and never had a problem with this one. I am looking to replace it with a 6080 because of the humidity control.
I had a TempRite 8050C before, and it worked very well except that the temperature reading was off a couple degrees and it was not adjustable.
I installed a TempRite 6030 thermostat at work and that one has touch screen problems as well, but otherwise works great.
