This full-featured thermostat delivers a beautiful "built-in" look for any home. Behind its low-profile exterior (projecting just 3mm from the wall when installed), it features 7-day programmabiltiy, an easy-to-use touch screen interface, and more. Choose the Energy Star setting for comfort and energy efficiency. Install took about a day, since it didn't want to work. Had AC guy come over who talked to customer support forever but didnt get it to work.
Called them myself next day and put new batteries in and then it worked !
After about 4 month it malfunctioned and called for heat without shutting off. It heated the house to 108F !!!!
Talked to customer support and they sent another unit. That install went smooth - put new batteries in right away.
That one is working for 3 month now (crossing fingers!).
Not sure if I can recommend it yet.
The main issues:
-The touch screen. The only way to describe it would be Junk. There are so many dead spots to the screen. Having to use a pen or stylus instead of my finger was a major pain.
-The unit frequently freezes. This requires resetting the whole unit. Luckily the reset button is easily accessible (ritetemp just have predicted this). Once the unit is reset the real fun begins...reprogramming the unit. Recently this was been an issue with the finicky nature of the touch screen.
To put it in the most simply way, I would not recommend this unit.
Do not buy this product unless you enjoy being frustrated, sweaty in the summer, and freezing in the winter.
Awful product. Do. Not. Buy.
The only con is that it does not have 2nd stage heat. So if you are using this with a heat pump and the pump cannot keep up (ie. it is too cold outside), it will keep on running trying to do its best. Of course, I should have checked this before I bought it, so it's my fault, not that of the unit. I like the looks so much that I have not bothered to replace it with another unit able to handle 2 stage heat.
UPDATE: I have discoved that this unit does indeed have emergency/auxiliary heat. I had a jumper set up incorrectly.
