Book two in this series gives us a continuation of the story from book one with a different couple. The story will unfold and we’ll finally find out the truth.
Genevieve is working to move on from the brutal murder of her mother. After surviving her own kidnapping, she has secrets. To keep anyone from finding out what really happened that night, she has to marry a man she doesn’t even know. But when a complete stranger saves your life, you do what needs to be done to protect his.
Isaiah is a quiet man just trying to make a life for himself. He’s a felon with a heart-wrenching past. His tortured soul will break your heart. A man who believes he is beyond redemption and does not deserve anyone’s love.
Now Genevieve and Isaiah have to find a way to live as a married couple and convince everyone else that their whirlwind romance is real. And find out who’s behind her mother’s murder and her kidnapping.
This story gave me all the feels and kept me guessing. Genevieve was a strong woman used to only depending on herself. As she began to rely on Isaiah’s support you watched her walls crumble. Their attraction was gradual and the slow burn was hot as hell. Isaiah never expected to get a second chance at happiness, but when he finally realizes she’s not going anywhere, he’s never letting her go.
I definitely felt every emotion while reading. Unexpected twists will leave you in tears, but their love will give you hope. This couple took me on a journey of second chances that I won’t be able to forget.
Riven Knight picks up Isaiah and Genevieve’s story where it began in Gypsy King, as Isaiah and Genevieve, for the lack of a better description considering this situation is anything but convenient, enter into a marriage of convenience. I’m sorry, but I just cannot bring myself to give out any more details about the plot than that. Anything I say will be a spoiler, and this is one story that needs to be read and experienced as the author intends – without any advance warning of where the story is going to go. I’ll tell you that there were parts of the story where I was on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what would happen next. There were turns and twists and bumps in the road that had me up and out of my seat, pacing the floor as I read. There were shades of gray that eventually fleshed out an image that couldn’t be misconstrued as anything but black and white.
Perry stitched this enthralling, unputdownable plot together with the fragile strings of love. Isaiah and Genevieve came to each other with their own sets of heavy baggage. The thing that held them together, though, was the nightmare they experienced together. There was no one to lean on but each other, and while awkward at times, they were forced to find a way because there wasn’t any other option. Slowly, oh so deliciously slowly, the chemistry between them began to smoke and build until it burned hotter than either had ever imagined. They grew closer, and what was once for show began to feel very real. These feelings between them were unexpected, slightly uncomfortable, sometimes unwanted, but wholly unavoidable. Perry did a fantastic job of allowing this moving and beautifully portrayed love story to unfurl organically by never rushing this couple down the road to romance, and just allowing them to take their time getting there.
Riven Knight picks up the gauntlet laid down in Gypsy King, and it was an extraordinary addition to this captivating, sexy new series from Devney Perry. A riveting, engrossing suspense plot coupled perfectly with a heart-racing romance into a gripping, all-consuming story that I positively inhaled. Five smooches from me for Riven Knight by Devney Perry!
I was engrossed in this one from the first page. I will admit, there were a couple times where it slowed a bit for me, but those parts didn't take away from me enjoying this story.
This book is one big awkward situation, and in some cases, a seemingly impossible situation. These two are determined to keep their secrets, while trying to keep Genevieve's newly found father out of prison for murder.
This book is full of suspense and mysteries from the previous book slowly coming out. The turns this book took was a ride in itself.
The slow build of a romance is exactly what I needed. It wasn't instant. And it wasn't always pretty. It was the perfect blend of torturous and sweet. Both characters' inner struggles were raw and real.
I am really looking forward to the next book. While the mysteries from the first book have been tied in a bow in this book, we get some new little mysteries that the next book will solve.

Why? Well, for a start, I think that the writing is excellent. Great plot, wonderful characters and a narrative voice that doesn't bog down at all. Added to that, these characters and their circumstances just resonate with me. I have made a connection to them. They are part of my fictional family.
This particular book overlaps with and then continues on from Tin Gypsy. I strongly recommend that you read that book first to understand the background. This one will then, I think, inspire more of an emotional reaction to some of the events in this book.
A series which is going from strength to strength.
This book can be read as a stand-alone, but perfectly follows on from the mystery and drama of book one, Gypsy King.
The story is about a retired motorcycle club the Tin Gypsies, and how they have all become embroiled in an ongoing murder mystery. Genevieve a young woman, is struggling to come to terms with the loss of her mother, and is desperately seeking justice, and for the real killer to be found.
But after her kidnapping and a traumatic event,Genevieve is left doing the one thing she believes will help save her, marrying her saviour Isaiah.
Isaiah is a beautifully broken man who keeps his private life private. He does not open up to anyone, and only his employers know he’s an ex-con. He is tortured and strong, and after rescuing Genevieve from captors after she was abducted, he is determined to keep her safe. No one knows what went on that evening, only them, and with their new bond, they are determined to protect one another by the only means they know how, through marriage. But can they convince everyone that they are genuinely in love?
This story is so well written. I adore Isaiah and he is my favourite character so far. He doesn’t believe he deserves to be happy, but his loyalty and strength shines through.
Genevieve is a very likeable character, and you hurt for her not having the answers and closure for her mothers death. She is struggling to adapt to the new family that surrounds her, whilst trying hard not to feel betrayed by the lies and secrets her mother left behind. She is relatable and i constantly wanted to know more about her, her life, her mother and what her future may turn out to be.
Riven Knight was utterly addictive, captivating and had me guessing at all the twists and turns, and I can’t wait to find out who the real killer is.
The perfect read for all romance lovers, MC lovers and those who enjoy suspense/mysteries.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there is nothing Devney Perry can’t write.
This story is the one one I wanted most, as soon as I finished Tragic, I needed Isaiah’s story, if anyone needs a HEA it’s him, though his road to love isn’t smooth, it’s like being on the back of the bike he’s fixed up, bumpy, hard to hold on to at times and twists and turns in the road you won’t see coming.
I am in awe at Devney’s talent, I was gripped to every page, even when I had tears streaming down my face, I knew the end result would be worth all the pain and sadness, and I wasn’t wrong. Riven Knight is an exciting, unexpected, beautifully heartbreaking story, about two people thrown together in unusual circumstances finding love amongst their impossibly devastating surroundings.
We met Isaiah in Tragic, the brother of Kaine and the reason for Kaine’s heartbreak. I don’t want to give anything away as I believe everyone needs to experience Tragic for themselves. However, I can say, even after gaining Kaine’s forgiveness, Isaiah can’t forgive himself, he lives a solitary life, working hard and then going home to a small studio flat above the garage he works at. Never socialising or making friends, he is existing rather than living. No one can get through the walls around Isaiah’s heart, until he lands himself a wife he didn’t want and doesn’t love, but needs all the same.
Genevieve Daylee’s life has been turned upside down in a short space of time, after finding out her mother was brutally murdered, Genevieve heads to Clifton Forge to visit her grave, only to be kidnapped and held by a masked man set on revenge, landing herself in the middle of a war between two rival biker groups, at which, the head of one sits her Father, whom she’s never known or met. Sadly, the tragedies don’t stop there and after fleeing from the kidnapper, she ends up in another nightmare situation, but is thankfully saved by Isaiah, a total stranger, and the couple now share a secret no one can know. To protect each other, they decide to get married 1 week after they first laid eyes on one another, but this is just the beginning of the story for this pair.
At times my heart truly felt like it was braking, the emotions Devney is able to evoke with her words is phenomenal, there is so much in this book, I can’t stress any more, how much I believe everyone should read this.
I would definitely advise anyone looking at this book to read Gypsy King first and now I can’t wait until May and the release of Presley’s story in Stone Princess.
Isaiah is so broken, so lost and poor Genevieve has experienced so much loss in her life. Together they are just two half of a whole. There is drama, there is heartache, there are some classic one liners and a shocking twist near the end.
The sneak peek at the end has me very excited for the next book!
Couldn’t wait for this after being left hanging and wanting more at the end of Gypsy King, and we were not denied a fantastic read.
Genevieve and Isaiah’s story is full of heartbreak and heartache.
Both have come from terrible tragedies, thrown together by circumstances and decisions made in the heat of the moment.
You’ll want to fight with Genevieve to find out the truth.
Your heart will break for Isaiah.
This is a tale of lies and secrets with twists and turns throughout.
Just loving the Tin Gypsy series. Can’t wait for the Stone Princess.
I loved Riven Knight, Isaiah and Genevieve are such a great couple. Two quiet souls thrown together in unusual circumstances, who find love amongst the seemingly impossible situation they are both stuck in.
Riven Knight is such a tragic, sad story about past love and loss, about guilt and self-loathing and hate that eventually culminates into present events and the mystery we where introduced to in Gypsy King. It all unravels slowly through the story, interwoven with Isaiah and Genevieve's slow budding romance.
A perfect paced well written plot, that also interconnects the Tin Gypsy books with Devney Perry's other two contemporary series Lark Cove (Isaiah's brother Kaine from Tragic) and Jamison Valley (Genevieve's half brother Nick from The Clover Chapel).
Riven Knight is a heart wrenching story about secrets, lies, loss, redemption and love. Had a great couple of hours reading this beautifully written, angsty and sweet contemporary romance with a suspenseful twist.
Can't wait to read more from the Tin Gypsy series.
I absolutely loved Isaiah and Genevieve. The slow burn from strangers to friends to lovers was just so sweet and beautiful. It’s Perfection.
All the questions I had after Gypsy asking have been answered and OMG you will be shook with everything that happens!
Devney Perry can do wrong , you will be hooked from the first page.
I can not wait for Presley’s book!!
