I've beaten the game once and am now almost done a second go-round in order to unlock the final character, Gold Lion.
In addition to the 9 levels of the game, there are optional side quests that net you a sum of money or a special item to boost stats. One of the tasks is called "Lift-A-Thon" and says you have to lift 50 thugs to complete it. This description is wrong as you actually have to THROW the thugs forward for it to count. Another error is the "Throw-A-Thon" where you must throw 100 weapons. If you throw weapons while running or jumping, they don't count towards the goal. There are minor errors in the Character database, such as the person from NES World Cup Soccer being described as first appearing in Super Dodge Ball.
These minor flaws aside, the game is bug free and flows smoothly from beginning to end. The 3D gives a "Paper Mario" effect and works nicely. There is enough content here to keep you busy for a week or so, not including the dodgeball match mini game and 4-person brawl mini game!
Natsume, I love you. BORIS FOR PRESIDENT.

UPDATE: The title description of this game is as follows: "River City: Tokyo Rumble with FREE Limited Edition Kunio Keychain." The first time I ordered this game, it did NOT come with the keychain. I then requested a replacement from Amazon's return service and returned the first one. Upon opening the replacement, the game AGAIN did NOT come with the keychain as advertised. I payed for and would like the "Limited Edition Kunio Keychain." Thank you.

When I opened my package and then I torn the wrapper off the case,I opened
the case and there was only the booklet and cartridge inside. To some people
it may not be as important, but to me it's a special connection because when
I buy my games physically I want to have somethig a little extra whether it's
a book full of art or a simple toy.
I got it the day before River City Ransom: Underground dropped on Steam. Both games are great, but Tokyo Rumble is definitely more like the original. There are numerous tiny changes and additions in Tokyo Rumble that work well, but none of them really change the nature of the game. ...never again accidentally running into a wall, though? That's beautiful.
If you're looking for more of a sequel, in terms of evolved game mechanics, then go with River City Ransom: Undergound. If you just want more River City Ransom, then get River City: Tokyo Rumble.
The arena and dodge ball modes are fun, and do a good job of fulfilling those particular bits of the Kunio series. The lack of online multilayer is a bit of a letdown. I don't play many games online, though, so this is no bother to me.
All in all, a solid $30 for a physical copy.
Double Dragon 2 was a favorite game of mine growing up with the NES, and playing this brought me back to those days.
