Rizzo is a spitfire. She’s unbelievably smart and cunning, and does not suffer fools gladly. She is often the smartest person in the room and is not afraid of showing that. She also has a mouth like a sailor, an ability to scare the crap out of people with a stare, and a fierce loyalty to those close to her. Duncan Peters trusts her like no other and puts her in charge when he needs to step away from the company. And even though she fights him tooth-and-nail, she takes the helm because it is what you do for “family.” But before taking charge, she must undergo a bit of a transformation to give her the proper CEO image. Enter the funniest assistant ever, Norri, who keeps her on her toes, and bodyguard, Fergal Dolan, who we find out knows our Rizzo all too well. As the story unfolds, we learn exactly what that relationship was, and the Rizzo Protocol is born.
I enjoy how Ms. Fontien delves deeper into the lives of some of the people we meet in the first book. It really helps to explain how and why the characters behave the way they do. I have to say, Rizzo was not a favorite character of mine in the beginning. She struck me as having a bit too much attitude, and seemed to need a good slap. But as the story continues to unfold, you learn why she’s guarded and aloof, and why she doesn’t want anyone to breech her protective shell. It also makes it that much more satisfying to me, as the reader, to see her grow and accept things from the past which paves the way for her to have a much sweeter future. And she does have an incredible future in store for her. I give this 4.5/5 stars, but this site does not allow for partial ratings.
This book is full of amazing characters that pull at your heart strings and have you cheering for them the entire time.
I loved the relationships of the characters and how everything really intertwined.
The Rizzo Protocol is by far my favorite book by this unique and amazing author.
I love everything about Rizzo. Her sass, her fire, the fierceness in which she loves and protects those closest to her.
But mostly I love the way she looks at life and relationships. I admire her blase attitude about how love is a time waster. (And let's just mention here that the sex is pretty hot. Very well written. Keep a fan and a pair of panties on hand ladies.)
Until we meet Fergal. An amazing man who I loved immediately.
She becomes caught in a very dramatic and hilarious love triangle between Fergal and Rickard. Norrie, her GBF, is constantly butting in to diffuse the situation, with his flamboyant humor. I love how he stays on the sidelines about his choice until the end.
Of course Duncan Peters has a major role in the story as it is his company that Rizzo is being groomed to take over. But you will have to read to find out just how major his role is...
5 amazing panty thumping, heart racing, edge of your seat stars!
