Product Description

Claire can t wait to tie the knot with her handsome multimillionaire fiancé. But her plans for a storybook Christmas Eve wedding in Aspen are derailed when a huge storm paralyzes the entire Rocky Mountain region. Forced to hitchhike to reach the aisle, Claire meets widower Wes and his 12-year-old daughter. Though it s hate at first sight for the adults, over the course of their arduous three-day journey, Claire and Wes come to realize that their initial preconceptions about each other are all wrong, and an undeniable attraction develops between them. On the eve of her wedding, Claire is forced to ask herself a surprising question: is Wes, a man who is seemingly wrong for her in every possible way, really Mr. Right? Starring Jennifer Grey and Clark Gregg.

Claire (Jennifer Grey, Dirty Dancing) has it all: a thriving career as a fashion photographer and a handsome Italian fiancé, Lorenzo. Her wedding is set to happen in five days, on Christmas Eve, when she decides to fly from Chicago to Aspen to surprise Lorenzo--but nothing goes right and Claire finds herself stranded at a truck stop in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately, she gets picked up by Tom (Clark Gregg, The New Adventures of Old Christine) and his daughter Hilly (Megan Park, The Secret Life of the American Teenager), who are having their own troubles getting to Grandma's house in time for Christmas. Tom and Claire can't stand each other at first sight… which only means that they're destined for each other in the end. The Road to Christmas doesn't hold many surprises; this is comfort entertainment, pure and simple. The contrast between pampered princess Claire and rough-hewn Tom (who holds some secrets, however) is standard stuff, and the obstacles to their romance are obvious and obviously dispatched. Fortunately, the engaging cast (particularly Park as the cheerful daughter) makes everything watchable. --Bret Fetzer

This movie was going along good until you get to the point where Jennifer Grey's intended is caught with another man in bed by her. I tell you this because I think some people might not want their children to see this movie.

Enjoyed the story until fiance found in bed with another man. Definitely not appropriate for a "family" holiday movie. Enough said.

This story had huge potential. The relationship between the father and daughter was wonderful, the romance totally worked, and the progress the three characters made on their shared journey was believable and sweet. However, this movie ended with disaster! Seriously, if you want to kill an existing relationship and make way for a better one, there are far better ways to move the plot along~ And, the reaction of the leading lady to her devastating betrayal was seriously minimized. Whoever created this story took talent and a good creation and flushed them down the toilet just to be sensationalistic. Please, do not waste your time!

This movie borrows heavily from the tradition of movies like Planes, Trains and Automobiles or The Sure Things in that it is a movie in which a series of unlikely mishaps and weather conditions leads to the main character having a prolonged road trip in an attempt to reach a destination. In this case, a successful woman from Chicago is attempting to join her fiancee in Colorado for their Christmas eve wedding. Due to a mechanical problem on the plane and the busy travel season, she ends up on a bus and then a truck before being picked up by a school teacher widower and his daughter who also happen to be going to Colorado. At first they seem to be opposites and her big city ways clash with his love of hitting the backroads. However, by the time they reach his mother's house, they are warming to each other. Once she finds out he is more sophisticated than first met the eye and that her fiancee isn't what he appeared to be, the eventual ending is clear. This is a nice love story. All of the characters have a lot of chemistry and are likable. It is not terribly innovative or full of surprises, but except for a somewhat less-than-savory revelation about the girl's fiancee at the end, it is a comfortable movie to watch.

This is one of those movies which just give a person a warm feeling. It has a combination of humor, and road trip scenarios. Shows how a relationship can evolve in short order and be everything the couple needed. A lot of give and take between the actors, coupled with concern and caring.

I loved this movie too. Jennifer Grey with her new nose starred in this movie about a fashion photographer trying her best to get to point B from Point A. She has the most unimaginable unforeseen issues during her travel. It was just destiny that she would grab a ride from a widower and his daughter (and incidentally her husband in real life). When she finally arrives at her destination she finds out that her fiance' is gay. But, fortunately, she has a chemistry going with the widower and makes for a happy ending to the story. If you are looking for dancing, watch Dirty Dancing.

This movie is about a woman that is surprising her boyfriend, and arriving a little early for their Wedding that they have planned ... She has to travel to get to her destination, but meets a lot of people along the way. Let's say every thing is not always as it seems, and we don't know how it will turn out!

One of my wife and myself's more recent favorite Christmas movies, I didn't notice it being on TV this past season, maybe it was but when I found the DVD on Amazon, and as it isn't the newest release, it was a great price and worth buying!
As I gave it 5 stars, we really like the movie. So many times the actors, especially in more recent films, do not have the chemistry that could even force you to believe they'd ever look at each other were it "real", the actors in this film bring very believable chemistry to this film. Jennifer Grey was great, as was the co-star Clark Gregg, who is now in AGENTS of S.H.I.E.L.D. A very good understated actor in my opinion.
We really like it! You might too!
