While this is a suspenseful novel, the author does take time to slow down to allow the reader to get to know the characters and absorb what they are going through physically, emotionally and spiritually. The only thing I couldn't really get a gauge on was the ages of the characters. It doesn't really make or break the story, but the author continually called retired pastor Mike "old", so it just made me curious. How old is "old"? 65, 75, 85? And what ages were Luke and the others if Mike was so "old" compared to everyone else?
It also afforded me a few opportunities to share the realities of hell and judgement to friends and family.
The characters were fleshed out well and the truth of the gospel was very clear. I am going on to Hanna's next book and hope he continues writing more truth laden books. I will read them all.
