The book started off as I had expected a family experiencing full time RV life style, kids and all (being I had seem a short video prior to reading the book), but I soon realized that this book was much more about a specific lifestyle not just RV but rock climbing and surfing of witch I know nothing about, these seem to be the hobbies of the Robyn and her feelings of sadness and content regarding these activities, they do like to hike and the family does a a lot of that. I did feel that the lingo used in the rock climbing (give me some beta) or surfing was a bit unknown to me still don't understand it all but it would have been nice to had some introduction to this lingo before hand.
I found that the husband Victor was almost made to feel like a third wheel as this was not his thing and even though he was trying very had to be part of it, it was not appreciated, the discussions that came from that are very revealing and I think that anyone thinking about this lifestyle needs to be in lock step with the partner that this is "their" goal.
The writer of this book was witty and clever in picking the content of the book but I think that more about how this changed them as a family and the experience would have made it a better read, more about the experiences they had with locals would have added color to the book. There was some intertwined within the book but not as much as I had expected when traveling Europe in a tent and RV.
I was caught by surprise by the direction they went and the overall content of the book, it kept me interested in wanting to know what is next and mostly, I was hoping for the Robyn to have an epiphany and it would be revealed in the book.....
If you enjoy reading a book about someone else's experience and it read kind of like a chronological string of blogs or journal entries then this book is for you. Enjoy
