In this book, you will learn what you need to know to ask good questions from your wealth advisor.
Fried is not going to tell you how to pick the next hot stock. That could get you into trouble. What he will do is show you the necessary path to retirement planning.
We really like the analogy about risk and how we are more willing to take risks under certain conditions. This is probably one of the best descriptions of why we take on the risks we do, when we do it, than we have ever read.
Fried speaks about planning for long term care. Since this review is being written from a Long Term Acute Care Hospital (L-TACH), we can understand how important the knowledge given on that particular subject can be. Get Road Rules for Retirement and pay attention to the section on long term care insurance. It is not a matter of if you will need it, but when. I am only 55.
We rate Road Rules for Retirement all five stars. It is easy to read and understand. The examples given make sense and it is well-written by someone who has years of experience.
In addition to Road Rules for Retirement, we recommend Master Your Cash Flow: The Key To Grow And Retain Wealth by Albert J. Zdenek Jr CPA/PFS. With these two books, you should have everything you need to open a dialog with your wealth advisor and plan your retirement journey.
