Gr 10 Up—This nontraditional guide helps readers to determine how to live their lives. Put together by Roadtrip Nation, a nonprofit educational organization that encourages young people to pursue their aspirations, the book is comprised of three different parts, each with a theme: letting go of others' expectations; defining one's values, interests, and passions; and achieving one's goals. Breaking up the text are inspirational photos, illustrations, and quotes by individuals interviewed for the Roadtrip Nation project. Engaging and comprehensive, the content is clearly organized, letting readers stop and start whenever they choose. The index will help teens more easily navigate this volume. The last few pages are left blank so that users can take notes—which may make it a less than suitable purchase for libraries. The inclusion of seven projects add a valuable interactive element. VERDICT Fans of self-help books will greatly enjoy and benefit from this highly accessible read.—Jess Gafkowitz, New York Public Library
"Excellent for new graduates, midlife job seekers, and anyone who desires a change." -Library Journal
"This book is not going to solve all your problems for you; let's just get that out of the way. What it will help you to do is ask the right questions; not "what am I supposed to be doing?" but "what do I love doing?" -Veronica Belmont, Technology and Gaming Host
"This book is a great reminder of why we should always follow our dreams and never settle. It's inspiring, motivating, fun, emotional, and so much more. It's an honor to be included with such talented role models."-Ariel Helwani, MMA Reporter: FoxSports and MMAfighting.com
"Roadmap proves that a life catered to our own unique strengths and interests is not only possible, but with the right tools and insight provided, something we can start pursuing today." -Datev Gallagher, aka Ladiedottie, YouTube Celebrity
"I can't tell you how thrilled I am to see new books on the self-help shelf that rattle our idea of what belongs there. Roadmap expands our definition of what to expect from the genre and what to expect of ourselves-- really helps to blow the dust off the old picture." - Jenn Witte, Bookseller, Skylight Books

I am a recent college graduate who has an impeccable knack for screwing up her life in really stupid ways and getting away with it, only to feel guilty, confused, and lost most of the time. Add to that a cripplingly poor understanding of who I want to be and what I want to do, and you have a pretty worrisome 22 year old. I have been searching for a book that would help me see life and dreams and career choices in a completely new context, but I didn't want to browse the "Self Help" section at Barnes and Noble, so help me.
I came across this book at my college bookstore, and just flipping through the pages, I knew it was something special. I saw big, bold, but CLEAR messages with such unique explanations and analogies that spoke to me, and helped me a lot in identifying what all I need to do to set my life straight, or at least, view concepts like success/failure differently.
I got a feeling that the writers of this book actually CARED, and actually LIVED the uncertainties and confusion that they speak of. What an amazing piece of work and driven, cool, individuals that created it. PLEASE give this to your kids, grandkids, heck - parents and grandparents, too. If anything, I learned that there's no such thing as "too late" to get up each morning and try to rewrite the rest of your life. :)
