Advantages and caveats:
Decent price. Based on my arbitrary assessment of its quality I'd actually exact this to sell for about $10 or $15 (a bit less than what I paid) but I've also seen more expensive products that are less suitable.
I like that it can hold my iPad in its case. It works great, and I don't have to mess with it when I want to take it with me. I dislike that there is no "side support" but in practice, I doubt it will be a problem because any jostling strong enough to dislodge it sideways will be a serious enough situation that a loose tablet will be the least of my concern.
The arm is not a typical spring-like "gooseneck" as might be used on an old school desk lamp. Instead, it's a solid piece of bendable metal. It is relatively difficult to move - very stiff. This is both good and bad. Bad because when you need to adjust, especially small amounts, it's not very yielding. Good because it probably won't sag over time under the weight of the tablet.
For my application, the arm is just barely long enough. I bolted the bottom of the arm to the front seat bracket, which on my car runs parallel to the floor - not perpendicular like the instructions illustrate. (Not sure if that is typical on modern cars or not) The arm has to make an immediate 90-degree bend, which is difficult because it's so stiff.
On smooth roads, it works great. I can put the tablet in a good enough position to follow easily. Once the "collar" on the ball and socket connection is tightened, I can tap and drag pretty well. On bumpy roads it's a lot more difficult. There is nearly zero damping. So it's not something I would want to use on a washboard surface. But really, I don't expect it to be a problem because ... Safety first.
Bottom line is, for the tiny trips Around town I've used this for it works and doesn't break the bank, so it's a win.
My car seat screw sits right below the slider for the seat so I couldn't install it the simple way as it would block the movement of my car seat. So I used the manual floor screw which I screw to the right side of the middle console - works great.
I was unsure of how the small tablet holder was going to hold my 8.9" Nexus 9 because it is quite small even after I used the longest claw available [it comes with different length claws]. What I didn't realize is that the tablet holder actually has a spring and it expands itself from the bottom [you can see it in their picture]. The spring and the rubberized claw firmly holds my tablet in place. So overall I love this tablet holder and feel it will last for a long time. Highly recommended.
Check where your seat bolt is located and if there are any plastic cover around the bolt. The way the c clamp is attached to the goose neck may make it where it will not fit into plastic access opening to the seat bolt. This was the case with my car. I ended up using the provide L bracket and attached it to the back of the passenger seat. This provided the height and angle to put the tablet in a good viewing position.
I hesitate to adjust the goose neck as it may pull the screws loose from the back of the seat. I have to use care in adjusting it. Again, the goose neck is very stiff its not something you can adjust easily one handed while driving. Not something small kids can adjust. The tablet holder does swivel easily but make sure neck is adjust in the place you want it.
