You need to set your expectations on what this product is used for. This isn't a work-around to try and force yourself into shirt sizes that wouldn't ordinarily fit, but will help with the fit on properly sized garments. This garment will not take you from an XL to a Medium, but within a particular shirt size it can make you fit more comfortably in "trimmer" or "fitted" shirts.
Many of the other reviews sound like they bought a size smaller in hopes for extra compression. I have not had any problems with it ripping or tearing, thought it takes quite a bit of flexibility to get on and off.
I work out a couple lazy times a week can still push 50 pushups
At this weight, if I wear a medium tee shirt its snug enough to see my flabby chest.
I always wear a large but they look baggy/sloppy, I'm constantly buying new shirts when they get too baggy.
Same with golf shirts, I find myself slouching to much!
I tried another "support" shirt and had reinforcement like a man-bra!
Picture Kramer's man-bra the bro. Nope!
I bought the medium hoping to get good support...it was way too tight, my dog just sat there while I desperately tried to get this on!
Its plenty long, the material is soft, no irritation.
I wore it all day, it was a sticky 86° and fooling around with crafts on the patio it felt comfortable, not hot, not cooling like my under armor, which can be uncomfortable, but comfortable figuring I'll keep it because my weight fluctuates about 8lbs depending on activity level.
Those lines or reinforced stitching is barely noticeable, I could barely feel them
I just ordered a large!
These shirts are OK and work well to help you form fit your body a little.
It will not help squeeze you into a smaller size of clothes.
It does help compressing flabby areas a bit.
I would not recommend sizing down, and I think you should put it on feet first.
