I have to admit, I've read every single book in the Chaos, Unfinished Heroes, Dream Man, Colorado Mountain, The Burg and the Magdalene series by KA. All of those have strong, independent, lovable leading females. So I'm at a loss as to why the female leads in the first two books in this series are so annoying and whiney. It's seriously messing with my enjoyment of these books. Not to mention these chicks are brain dead when it comes to their safety, especially considering the men are cops and private investigators.
It pains me to say this, but I don't think I'll continue the series. I've read some of the reviews for the next book and apparently there's another leading lady headset on pushing the leading man away. I just don't have the patience. Sorry. I love all of KA's other series and will read anything new released in those. I'm apparently not Rock Chick.
Also, she had been in love with Lee for like 15 years and and suddenly she wants nothing to do with him. I get that he turned her down once, but her behavior really made no sense. Lee was scrumptious sounding. He was mature and responsible and honest. Indy was immature and LIED constantly. I don't get what about her was supposed to be appealing. Also, I found the sex scenes to be a little flat compared to her other books. I actually have decided not to read this series...at least not now. Which is a shame because I have read almost everything else she has written. I've completed the Colorado Mountains series, the Unfinished Heroes, I'm almost done with the Burg, I'm half way through Chaos, I've read the entire Dream Man Series and I've read almost all of her Stand Alones. ALL of those were amazing. But, this...not so much.
