The emotions were right there on the sleeves of the characters and you could feel the pain. The pain the Brett is feeling you feel it too, and you understand why he does what he does. You will cry for the pain, and laugh with the happiness.
Havenwood Falls is like Vegas, what happens there stays there. But at least once you leave there you forget, unlike Vegas...LOL
Until Next Time... Tabi
For my money, Ms Burdorf has pitched this just about right. Wisely taking a discrete period in time, she nevertheless sets the scene, creates the tension, provides chemistry and drama and a conclusion which, whilst not what one might hope for, nevertheless seamlessly gels with the overall story arc, and leaves the reader hanging - just a little bit.
A lot of fun to read.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Brett Rhys-Falwyck’s band Pink Melon is on the fast road to success when everything come crumbling down. Brett is spiraling out of control when he receives an email asking him to teach a music class in the little town of Havenwood Falls. He has nothing else to lose.
Cecelia Amundson, angel and owner of Music & More in Havenwood Falls decides to send an email to the lead singer of Pink Melon and little does she expect…he shows up and soon becomes the danger that she ran to Havenwood Falls to escape.
This story was very entertaining and fast read. Can’t wait for the next authors set of characters.
I liked this story but the pace was uneven for me. It was slow in parts and felt rushed to tie up everything in the last few pages. I was also annoyed by the song lyrics in between every chapter, especially since the novella was already so short listed at 93 pages, with 18 songs, some 2-3 pages long making it even shorter. I came for the story and didn't feel like the song lyrics enhanced anything. The story had potential to be so much better than it was in this reader's opinion.
