Lacks character development, historical background and fully realized plot line

The book had the potential to be quite goid. Although this is not my typical genre, I read a prior book in the same character universe and found it surprisingly well written resulting in my reading all of them to date. This one lacks the depth, the backstory of the characters to fully flesh then out. In past books quite a bit of time is spent in the main character's history. When interwoven with current time, it serves to provide a basis for actions. In this case only an occasional paragraph provides that historical cintext.
If you live for a few chapters in the past you become more invested n and understanding of why the character acts as he dies. Examples would be spoilers so will only suggest that the authors combine all 3 books into one title or take the time to fully develop the characters in the future. There were too many short cuts in this one so one never becomes fully invested in the characters.

This book is the 2nd in the trilogy and offers up some in depth insight into up and coming rock star Ian Kagan and the stubborn and strong-willed artist/photographer Zoe Manning. Both are in the process of discovering themselves and what they are hoping to achieve with their talents. Is there room in Ripper Records for two Kagans? And will Ian’s half-brother Simon allow for that or is he correct in his assumption that all is not as it seems with the newcomer? There is also a fascinating side story going on with Simon and his wife Margo. We revisit numerous Oblivion world personnel in this book and I think it’s some of the best character development Elliott and Quinn have done to date!
Steamy, sexy, and funny, with a hefty dose of suspense, this was a great read. Warning , it ends in a brutal cliffhanger! I can barely wait for the conclusion next month!

Wow! I just...Wow! This series has become one of my favorites in the Oblivion Universe. Long standing fans will be excited to know that this series belongs just as much to Simon and Margo as Ian and Zoe, and it has been so awesome to see how their relationship has progressed. And to see Ian and Margo finally find their way to each other permanently, as well as to see them developed fully as characters in their own right, to see them come into their own, was so worth it! I waited until all three of these books were out before I read them, and I am so glad I did. You're going to want to just but them all at once, believe me. Once you start this adventure you are not going to want to stop, even when you get to the last page!

Major Cliffy - But Worth It

I found most of this book moved a little too slow but once you finally get to the last third it truly becomes a page turner. I have stated many,many,many times that I am a dialog driven reader - I want interaction between the characters and when it happens here, it's Magic (pun intended). Ian's brother Simon has been a favorite of mine forever, I strongly recommend you read the Oblivion books before this one to truly appreciate the relationship dynamics. The final book in this series is out in 4 weeks, looking forward to the ending and more of the enigma that is Donovan Lewis (please) as well as the rest of the Oblivion family.

As we get to know Ian, you feel for his situation. The sweet and hot that he gives to Zoe doesn't hurt. This could easily become one of my favorite Oblivion related couples, and that is saying A LOT! Of course, with a third book coming, we're left with a cliffhanger and WHOA, it's a heartstopper. Two people trying to protect themselves from love, but love may be the only thing that can save them. READ IT!

I can't possibly write a review that will do this book justice!! Rock Reclaimed grabbed me with all of it's emotions and has made me feel what Ian and Zoe are feeling. Ian is the up and coming rockstar, brother to the rock God Simon of Oblivion. Ian is the perfect mix of a$$hole and gentle soul. He is troubled and mixed up in something that can have grave consequences. Zoe is an aspiring artist. She is so strong yet unsure of herself and her artistry. They are perfect together and for each other. Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott really nailed it with this book. Yes, this does end in a cliffhanger and oh what a cliffhanger it is! Intense!!!
