All of Marilee Brother's books are so intriguing, and draws the reader into the characters of the book, and visualizing the area the story takes place. I would recommend this book to all, plus her other books. You will love reading these.
Allegra lives with her gran, who is a sexual surrogate and her thrice divorced auntie. The trio sing in the local nursing homes (hence the rock and roll queen)
When her nephew tells her that his friend and her student Sarah has gone missing, she finds that no-one is very quick to worry about the missing girl. With a lecherous coach and a boyfriend who has been pretty uch foisted on her by her family, Allegra has her hands full.
Enter Sloan. Sexy, badass DEA agent. When Allegra stumbles into a drug bust whilst searching for Sarah she locks horns with the agent. There follows a hysterical telephone tag regarding the return of her property, much to the amusement of Sloan's fellow agents!!! When he repeatedly turns up where he's not invited, Allegra tries to get him involved in her quest to find Sarah.
With the help of her nephew, Nick, they follow the trail of sarah with the help of students, old and new, who have an ambiguous approach to law and order!!
Sloan and Allegra are amazingly hot stuff together. Lets just say I will never look at a gurney in the same way ever again!!! He's rough, tough and gruff - the perfect alpha hero. But he seems to enjoy Allegra's stubborn attempts to avoid him! Allegra has overcome a nasty marriage and thankfully is not a whiny female. The secondary characters all add to the madness and the plot zings along.
I highly recommend this book, no matter what type of genre you like. It has action, humour and passion. Let's face it, every female can get behind the sentiment that Allegra states at the opening of the book - panty hose (tights) ARE the work of the devil!!!!
Allegra Thome teaches a class of at risk teens by day, and by night spends time with her wealthy new boyfriend. She lives with her grandmother and aunt after leaving her abusive husband. Everyone thing is going along fine until she is caught in the middle of a drug bust and meets DEA agent Sloan. Nothing is easy after that. Then, one of her students goes missing and all hell starts breaking loose.
I loved Allergra so much. She was sassy and had me laughing all the way through. Never was she one to just sit around and let a man rescue her, no she took care of business herself. She was a fantastic female character. Sloan was rough around the edges but I couldn't help respect his drive in getting Allegra. The writing was witty and sassy, the secondary characters were as awesome as the main characters, the twists and turns kept me on my toes, and I just all around loved this book! Hopefully I will get to read more Allergra Thome books. Highly Recommend.
