About the Author

Steve Jenner is one half of the Broadcast Brothers Publishing and is a founding director of independent commercial radio stations High Peak Radio and Ashbourne Radio. Along with his brother, Paul, he masterminded a series of trial and special event broadcasts throughout the Midlands and the putting together of the company High Peak Radio Ltd. He read the opening message on High Peak Radio and presented the Afternoon Show on the first day of broadcast, and still hosts shows on both stations. This follows a twelve – year stint presenting the weekday Afternoon Show. He commentated on High Peak Radio's first football outside broadcast, from the Silverlands in Buxton, during which time he also presented the Saturday Afternoon Sports Show for the first three years that High Peak Radio was on air. He led the station’s application for another 12 – year FM radio licence which was confirmed in 2015 and will run until 2027 and the company’s successful opening of sister station Ashbourne Radio in 2008 and subsequent expansion into Wirksworth and Uttoxeter in 2010 and 2015 respectively. He worked as station manager and breakfast DJ there for nearly four years before moving on to present the weekday Afternoon Show on the station as well as a spell on Dales Drive. He also worked for the Plain English Campaign in New Mills as press and media spokesman, and as such has appeared on most BBC local radio stations up and down the country as well as BBC Radio 4 and 5, and counts BBC Breakfast TV, BBC 1, BBC 2, ITV, BBC 24, Sky News and CNN amongst his screen credits and international TV appearances on national stations from countries as diverse as Russia and South Korea. In total, he has over 20000 hours under his belt as a commercial radio presenter and has become one of the most recognised on – air voices in the Midlands and North West. He has interviewed people who knew Elvis Presley and Adolf Hitler. A former championship – winning racing driver ‘some time ago’, he lives in the Staffordshire Moorlands, a few yards from a canal where he moors his narrowboat and even fewer yards from the pub.
