A bit of time passes and Kate and a girlfriend decide to have a girls weekend. They hit the road and decide to pamper themselves in Miami. They get there, they're having fun and imagine Kate's surprise when she realizes the hottie from the band has a show in that town and he spots her while they're out and about. I feel like in quite a few rock star books the guy doesn't have to work all that hard to get the girl. But in Rock Starred, Peter is wooing Kate as best he can, and she's slowly letting him in. I enjoyed the change of pace, and I really loved Peter's character.
Rock Starred is an enjoyable novella that had me wishing for a rock star of my own. I enjoyed KBooth's writing style and already know I'll be picking up another of her books in the near future. She wrote the characters realistic and Peter was such a sweetie. I recommend this for any rock star lover out there.
As someone who appreciates a page turner involving a sexy rock star, I have to applaud this one because it doesn't follow the typical "bad boy" rock star-meets-groupie formula. Instead, you've got a hot rock star wiling to go the extra mile for a beautiful, headstrong woman...and the special twist I love most is that the WOMAN is the one who wants the one night stand. It's up to Peter, our rock star, to show Katie that he's worth more than one night. Right on!!
The book reads quickly and the plot is very clear...and of course the sex scenes, including one super-hot phone scene that I won't spoil for the rest of you, are top notch. I can't speak for others, but I've grown tired of reading the same old-same old sex scenes. It is nice to see someone thinking outside of the box once in a while. Great read!
Katie Stillman is the epitome of realness. Surviving your worst breakup is a story most women have. I could definitely relate to Katie and her need to keep her distance from men. Just use them for what she needs and move on. She's has her work to keep her busy and that's all that matters. She has no time for love, or so she thinks.
In struts Peter from her last photo shoot and he is everything hot, wholesome, that oh-dear-lord we all want in a man. Folks, I don't want to spoil it for you, but he wears glasses too. Rawr! Peter is persistent to boot, but in a sweet way. His antics had me swooning all over the place.
Booth writes one smoking hot novella with a fantabulous chemistry between the two that melted my kindle app. Add in some music mayhem and a best friend that keeps it real, and you have yourself a fantastic book.
Be mystified by Peter and let his woo sizzle you into madness.
Peter had his eyes set on Katie when she was doing professional photo shoots with his band. Katie wanted nothing to do with relationships because she had sworn off from making anything past the one night stands. Katie had made this rule because she was dumped the week of her wedding to another man and never wanted to feel that hurt again. Needless to say that Peter had his work cut out for him.
Even though this book had the different twist of loyal, loving rock star looking for a committed relationship and the woman he was after was the one who only wanted the one night stand, it was well written. It had me anyway. It was a quick read and hard for me to put down.
