It's soothing and interesting...

I'll be honest- 3.5 stars.
I have been a Tool fan for almost 20 years, and I was curious about this little offering. The instruments that he uses are very quiet and gentle, so it never gets hard or fast. You should know that this is definitely what it says it is, a collection of lullabies. Don't purchase this in the hopes of hearing anything too terribly intricate as there is a very limited number of instruments used here, all of which are very soft and similar in tone.
There are some real standouts here, "Disposition" transfers very well into a lullaby. I also really enjoyed "Reflection", and "The Patient". One song that I wish he had not covered is "Sober", because the vocal track is emulated and dominates most of the song, it becomes a little draining hearing the instrument that is tasked with this feat. It is similar to pushing the same key on a piano over and over when the words are to be enunciated. Overall, I feel that the selection of tracks is good.
It is cute, and I don't regret the purchase. It seems like a strange, new-age twist to some of my favorite songs of all time. I will try to play it for my babies when I decide to have some, and see what they think and how they react.
