About six months after making my purchase both of my tablets stopped turning on. I assumed this was an issue with their chargers, because the kids always seem to bend the ends and eventually cause shorts to occur. I now realize that it's simply a case of faulty batteries.
After some heavy researching I noticed that many people are having trouble with the batteries on these tablets giving out. Battery replacement guides abound for these cheapy tablets, and if you don't want to deal with the hassle of cracking one open, desoldering and soldering the delicate battery in place, it makes sense to pay more money.
I wish I would have sprung for a more expensive tablet, because I have to deal with the trouble of making the repair myself, or writing the purchase off as a waste of money. It's sad that such an integral component of these tablets are skimped on so much.
Don't expect them to last more than a year, if you are looking for a short-term solution they are an okay option, but with two failing on me I wouldn't expect them to last long.
Other than this issue, I do think that it would have been a fantastic entry-level tablet. With just enough space for storage, this tablet operates at a blistering 1.6 GHz which is actually faster than most other tablets on the market until you get into the $300+ price range. I did only have it for a couple of days, but I was already noticing that the accompanying power plug did not fit perfectly in its jack either and would from time to time (while sitting on sleep mode, on a table, undisturbed) make the unplug and re-plug notification sound.
I did not expect much from the camera after reading other reviews, but I would like to reiterate that this camera is significantly sub-par. There are no dynamic focusing capabilities, the zoom is fully digital and degrades the already terrible quality, and the light metering is almost useless, providing for over and under exposed images.
All in all I would say that if you need something inexpensive mostly for browsing this is the perfect tablet for you, but be realistic about the fact that it is not necessarily made to last.
