This is a generic product that comes in generic packaging with a computer printed sticker that says Rocketfish RF-AP306. This is false advertising because it is not a product from Rocketfish and is not in Rocketfish packaging. What a shame that Amazon continues to let this be sold this way on their site, damaging Amazon's reputation.

Bought this generic adapter and returned it after it failed for my presentation. I bought to save money and took to my presentation what a bad mistake! I returned it and bought the real thing and it works great. (Too late for my failed presentation!) I learned.

The product looks great and looks well built. I had issues with mine personally. When plugged into my Retina Macbook Pro, the monitor plugged into it flickers every 1.5 seconds. I tried to use a different DP and different monitor same thing happened. I lowered the resolution (from 1920x 1080 to 1680 x 1050), and the blinking went away. So if you plan on lower resolution I highly recommend it!.

The ad gives the impression that you are actually purchasing the Rocketfish brand but you receive an aftermarket brand. I can't really complain because it was only $1 and it works perfect. I have several other Rocketfish attachments (HDMI, VGA etc.) and this has the same quality in picture. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because of the misrepresentation. I most likely would have bought the aftermarket had I read a review that it worked.

I use this to connect an old DVI monitor to my Mac Mini (late 2012) for use as a second monitor. Fits in the Mini's Thunderbolt port, and does the job--for a whole lot less than what they charge at the Apple Store or Best Buy.

It took more than a week to arrive, but I wasn't in any big hurry, so not a big deal.

Not sure what brand it is, but I highly recommend picking one up if you want/need to use a DVI monitor with your Mac.

I've only tried to this product with an external monitor. It works fine. I have had problems with connecting my Macbook Pro to some projectors via HDMI but I do not think I would have a problem with this DVI adapter. I have all three Rocketfish Mini Display adapters (HDMI, VGA, DVI) and they all work great.
