This amp is outstanding! It pumps power to my perfectly content 550 watt RMS sound system without too much strain. However, when I go for longer drives (more than 1 hour) and I have the music up louder than when other people are in the car (pretty loud, just enough to get the mirrors to rattle a little bit), it will overheat and shut off. Nothing gets damaged when this happens, it shuts off automatically in order to protect the components from overheating. But it is frustrating having to wait 3-5 mins for it to cool back off enough to turn back on. Also, take a look at the dimensions of this thing. I knew it was going to be big because I made a mock up of it before it came for installation purposes. But this thing is anything but small. Just a heads up.

Oh yeah, there is a dial called "Punch Control" that you can run anywhere in your car that lets you control the subwoofer power levels directly via this switch. It is one of the best features this amp has to offer because of how much music varies in the bass level. If I could have a second go at it, I would have gotten the 1000W amp. But i got this for a steal on amazon warehouse deals

I picked up this amp to install inside my 2007 Ford Expedition. It replaced a failing JBL GTO 755.6 II six-channel amp. I am amazed at the improvement this amp provided to my system. The sound is very clear, noticeably more so than the JBL and cranks up very loud.

Four of the channels are powered with a standard analog class A/B amp at either 50 watts per channel at 4 ohms, or 75 watts per channel at 2 ohms. I'm running Polk DB 6.5" 2-way components in the front and Infinity Kappa 6"x8" coaxials in the rear doors.

The subwoofer channel is a digital class D amp that pumps out 200 watts at 4 ohms or 300 watts at 2 ohms. May not be ideal for someone looking to rattle the cars next to them, but it puts out very tight, clean bass through my 10" Alpine Type S sub in a sealed box.

I can't recommend this amp highly enough! Tons of clean power in a very compact package.

Hi;

I wanted something strong and yet I did not want a lot of AMPs in the hatch. I used to always think putting a sub AMP and hen 4way was best. I heard a 5way JL once and it was impressive, but expensive. I tried Fosgate in the past and they were good and can say this one did not disappoint. I am running a 12" sub, and 4 Infinity 6.5 in the doors. Total system under $800 and sounds like 2 grand.

I have this running some Polk audio 6.5" separates up front and 5.25" coax in the back and a clarion 10" svc sub, installed in a 2004 toyota tundra doublecab. I have a Kenwood bt752hd head unit running it all. This setup sounds much better than the stock jbl setup.

I'm running this in 4 ohm so all the channels are clean and clear even at high volumes. This amp has added the much needed depth to the sound in my truck.

It calls for an 80amp fused connection. I'm running it through a 60 amp fuse and have not had any issues yet. I have the gain level set at about 7 and everything sounds great.

I will update in a couple months.

Sounds great, for a little while, then goes into protection mode...running two 3.5", two 5.25", two 6.5" and one 4ohm 12", all infinity reference. Gains all at half way, 0g from battery to trunk then goes to 4g after distribution block. I was playing it loud, but not maxed out, and what it's pushing is not even what they claim it can handle.. Rockford used to be awesome...maybe this thing was meant for mids only...

Living in FL, I have the top or doors off of my Jeep Wrangler X often - frequently I'll take them both off, and the stock radio simply can't be heard over the wind noise. I didn't want to fill my cargo area with amps so I opted for a single amp to power 4 speakers and a sub. I paired this amp with 4 Infinity 6032s and a shallow Pioneer sub and am very happy so far. The Infinity speakers are 2 Ohm so the amp is capable of sending 75W to each, while the sub is 4 Ohm and gets 200W; this has proved to be more than enough for my needs. I had it installed so I can't speak to the ease of the installation process, but as far as the performance, it has been stellar. I did play with the settings a bit to suit my individual tastes, but once I found the combination I liked, this amp really delivered what I had hoped. I'll check it sometimes after pulling into the garage and it seems to get pretty warm, but I have yet to have it kick into protect mode. I haven't experienced any noise or hum at all, it is very clean and powerful. One feature that has come in very handy is the included bass knob; I had it mounted on the middle console of the dash and it allows for an easy boost or reduction in the subwoofer volume from song to song as needed. The shop I had do the installation recommends the 5-channel Infinity Kappa Five for installations like mine, but I did quite a bit of research and, not only did there seem to be a higher percentage of praise for Rockford amps out there, the reviews between these two particular amps made it clear that the reliability and performance of the Rockford topped that of the Infinity. Throw in the fact that the Rockford cost about half of the price of the Infinity (which does not come with a bass knob, so add another $40-$60,) and I was sold. If you are looking for a lot of power in a pretty compact package for a moderate price, you need to consider this amp.
