What I don't expect is danger bleeding or death by choking for non standard saftey I never write reviews but felt in IMPORATNT TO OTHE R MOTHERS. I assumed I was buying a some what cheaply made product at half the price so didn't expect it to b super good quality because it's more than half price but it should not endanger the child
SAFTEY ISSUE 1 The wood is not shaded properly and tough to touch in many areas. I was concerned while bullding it but figured I'd sand the few rough spots on the rocker and it was not the handles so I took the risk.
Second non saftey issue is the sound is muffled when it sings u can barley understand what it says I think we only know because we had another adorable pony for when she was smaller that same song.
3. SAFTEY ISSUE is how u attach the pony to the rocker are these tiny little mettle screw like buttons w medal washers. They should give u a little mini tool because there is no way to attach them strong enough for a child not to get them off there's four. There about the size of a penny shiny silver (attracts any toddler( n they stick out they DONOT go into the wood so the child is drawn to these four pointy thins if UR child is like mine and loves to turn things upside down and look at everything and anything she can tear apart. Well I tried to attach it as hard as I can w out a little mini wrench or mini wrench like thing u need or should b supplied. I thought I did well. I guess w all the constant rocking and them being exposed to the ground every rock they loosened and sure enough with in a few days I see her pony upside down I see her hiding behind couch and I say whTs in UR mouth? She has the little silver thing in her mouth and the washer ?? Good question pulled this play room apart vacuumed a million times and still can't find it and pray I won't find in her yummy w X-ray down the road. I am very careful w what I keep in her play area she is two and half and he puts all little and anything in her mouth.
So I was going to remove pony and all Amazon I was so upset but my daughter cried and my guy friend came over and out them on so tight w a wrench thing that I felt comfortable enough but continue to check it and one HAS LOOSENED AGAIN I JUST FOUNF IT BEFORE I CAME TO WRITE THIS. So it worked less than four days
Issue four SAFTEY ISSUE.
The wood is very cheaply made which I mentioned well my daughter was riding her pony and somehow got a little rough and toppled over sideways when on the pony. Not sure how I saw other reviws speaking of there concern none that said it happened. Well ok it fell over. I'm not a mom who panics because kids can get hurt doing anything my problem was when I picked her and pony up off my soft plush shag carpet (not hard wood or tile) the handle on the side she fell broke in half right down the middle cracked completely off ? I mean this was not extreme fall also a little medal size of stable medal thing fell out w it and additional medal tube about a inch long. Had I been washing dishes or folding laundry those would have been in her mouth in a heart beat. Not to mention having her pony for less that two weeks she almost choked once she's lucky it didn't cut her since she was holding when the wood split into pieces and then little medal things detached on her safe some childs area.
5 NON SAFTEY ISSUES when u attach these cheaply made handles they will be different lengths one was about half an inch longer looked a bit funny but figured my two years old wouldn't notice and to save 50-60 bucks for a cheaper model verse even handles as a single mom I was willing to sacrifice
What I won't sacrifice is her SAFTEY for saving a few bucks. I am shocked this item is still being sold and very concerned about this item and needs i b recalled. I promise I am not someone who complains about a lot of items I buy but this is something I felt future mothers need to know. Please buyer beware if it's a decorative piece where no one is going to ride it then it's perfect prop but please don't buy for small children I will b spending the extra fifty bucks for a safe pony and am terrified for future buyers and hope anaxon removes or warns parents this can not meet USA SAFTEY standard
