Rocko, Spunky, Heffer and Filburt return for another season of bizarre trips down the many twisted paths of Modern Life. Season Three highlights include a murder investigation involving the Bigheads, Heffer unearthing a rare talent for belching, Filburt popping the question, the exposure of Rocko’s spinach tooth and more! At long last, the complete third season is now on DVD!

Format: DVD
The third season of Rocko's Modern Life was pretty clearly where the whole team hit its stride. This particular season is full of memorable episodes and is an instant recommendation for any fan. 13 episodes across 2 discs, plus an excellent bonus feature that I'll get to below make this the best Rocko DVD release yet.

PACKAGING
The packaging is reminiscent of the first two seasons. Like season 2, there is new artwork (as far as I can tell; I don't think I've ever seen these images before) for the sleeve, discs, and menus. It's great and all appears to be done by Joe Murray, the series' creator. The main color scheme on the spine and back is a lime green color. Inside, the rear of the insert can be seen through the clear plastic case--which is mercifully NOT one of those horrible and flimsy "eco-cases"--and contains a full episode list with summaries of each episode. All-in-all, this is precisely what fans would want from a Rocko release and Shout Factory delivered in a huge way.

MENUS
Each disc has basic menus. They're easy to navigate, very clear, and attractive. The theme music plays in the background. Each episode is broken up into two segments and there is a Play All option. It's all completely appropriate for this sort of release. The bonus feature is on the second disc.

VIDEO/AUDIO
Without being able to say why, I can note that the video quality in this release is slightly better than the last two seasons. It's enough that I noticed it, though still not on par with remastering done on higher profile shows like The Simpsons. All the same, the video quality is pretty solid for this type of release. Oddly, it's better than Hey Arnold!'s DVD releases, which is strange considering Hey Arnold! is a newer show.

Season 1 is classic, season 2 was okay, and season 3 is hilarious. Season 3 has such classic episodes as Wacky Deli (where the gang makes an awful cartoon for Ralph Bighead), Rocko's nail-biting issues, and an 'accidental' art film by the Chameleon Brothers. Shout does an excellent job on the episodes, which look and sound amazing and are presented uncut(as far as I can tell). Enjoy!

Here we go again, with the third season of Rocko's Modern Life! One of the great shows from the golden age of nickelodeon. The show had some adults themes, but hell it went over us as kids and being able to get the show now it is funny to see what we did miss. Here is 13 more episodes from 1995, and some of my favorite episodes from this set are Bye, Bye, Birdie/Belch of Destiny, The Emperor's New Joe/Schnit heads, Manic Mechanic/Rocko's Happy Vermin, I see London, I see France/The Fat Lands, Wacky Delly, and the musical episode Zanzibar/Fatal contraption. Once again if you want to see how messed up this show is and you are feeling nostalgic you won't regret it.

Well, this being my third "Rocko purchase" I was expecting brillance with this dvd set. And brillance is what you get with it! First off, season 3 is by far the best season of the series. There are some outstanding episodes in this season, and not a single one is bland. In terms of the actual dvd, it's perfect! The quality has been upgraded a bit from the previous Rocko releases I can tell. And if great episodes weren't enough, there is a bonus feature on disc 2! Selected scene commentary by the creator Joe Murray himself. In a nutshell, Rocko's Modern Life Season 3 2-disc dvd set is the best release yet! Expect perfection with this wonderful dvd release.

I used to watch this as a kid on Nickolodeon, it is cool amazon has been able to buy the rights to show this and all the other old Nickolodeon shows. This cartoon is pretty tame compared to some stuff on the television, but is still slightly adult in nature for some kids.

Each season seems to be getting better and better as far as I'm concerned. I watched this a lot when I was younger, and it was, by far, one of my favorite Nicktoons. I do, however, find it rather disturbing as I've gotten older how many of these jokes directly relate back to adult situations (not sexual, but the kind of depressing situations you have to deal with as an adult). Good stuff!

Im so glad to have Rocko back, I already have seasons one and two, watched them and now I got this new season. It's a shame that this cartoon is not on TV any more it would still be a "hit" show, I think it is one of the better cartoons of the 90s. I'm happy to see its coming back again
