Rocksmith is the first and only video game where players can plug any real guitar with a standard quarter-inch input jack into an Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, or PlayStation 3, and play through an in-depth library of music including everything from the latest hits to classic rock. The use of a second Rocksmith Real Tone Cable allows for simultaneous split-screen cooperative play. The 11.25 feet cable will also allow players to plug in and record their instrument directly into their computer at 48KHz. The unique cable design ensures quick release of the guitar from the gaming console to protect the player's gear.

I noted that several reviews complain that the cable quit working after what seemed like an unreasonably short time, but the reason I bought this one is that my original RS2014 cable failed after only a few months of playing, in a similar fashion to the other users' complaints. There is no such thing as an "xbox cable" or a "PC cable"; they're identical parts, so I can't say that the cords made for any particular retail pack work any better or worse than this one. I am certain that Amazon will back me up if this one fails prematurely; they've always been pretty accommodating in the past.
I wish I'd gotten what was photographed. It's a good thing this wasn't a Christmas gift. I'll be submitting image feedback on that one.
