Product Description

Bully: Scholarship Edition takes place at the fictional New England boarding school, Bullworth Academy and tells the story of mischievous 15-year-old Jimmy Hopkins as he goes through the hilarity and awkwardness of adolescence. Beat the jocks at dodge ball, play pranks on the preppies, save the nerds, kiss the girl and ultimately navigate the social hierarchy in the worst school around.

KEY FEATURES

  • Story – Scholarship Edition brings together all of the clichés surrounding school, the cliques, the teachers, the pranks and creates an environment which is hilarious to play and interesting to explore.
  • Variety – With 82 missions, 45 lessons, loads of mini games and collectibles, Bully provides over 30 hours of entertainment.
  • Pranks – Spread the mischief. Use your slingshot to annoy the school mascot, give the preppies wedgies, leave a stink bomb in the cheerleader’s locker, trip the prefects on well placed marbles, drop firecrackers in the toilets and own the school.
  • Characters – Over 100 voiced characters to socially interact with among several social groups; jocks, nerds, preppies, greasers, teachers, townies, carnies and of course girls.
  • Choice – You’re in charge. Decide whether you have a positive or negative effect when interacting or accepting missions; you can say hello to fellow classmates or deliver mean wedgies. Even decide which girls you want to kiss or what classes to skip.
  • Music – Original score creates a dynamic atmosphere that compliments the schoolyard experience seamlessly.

The 1.2 patch corrected many of the issues making the game unplayable, but if you want to install the 1.2 patch on a windows 7 machine you must be running ultimate or enterprise to manually modify the security settings required to get the patch to install without error. Without the patch, the biggest (and repeating) problem is having load screens get stuck in infinite loops and losing any information since the last save. Amazon had a good deal on it and the gameplay is fun, but it is completely unbplayable for me on windows 7 home premium.

The idea is that you are a new student, with a bad reputation, at a prep school called Bullworth Academy. You are an outsider when you start, and there are factions of students (proto-gangs, if you will) that harass you. It's up to you to overcome them and basically become king of the mountain. At your disposal are a few friends (that you acquire when you complete missions for them), some weapons, the abilities to make stinkbombs and the like, and your ability to out-bully the bullies. You acquire skills by going to class or by bringing people items they are looking for. Just don't get caught by the prefects...or attack them, the staff, or the police!

The game is not impossible to complete, is a lot of fun, can be replayed often, simply because there are a lot of side missions that don't necessarily advance the story plot.

The game loads endlessly after the main character begins his quest. Many complaints on the Web about this problem. There are lots of suggested fixes, but none of the have worked for me. The game was very cheap to buy, but still it should work or they shouldn't be selling. I am unlikely to every buy from Rockstar Games in the future.

I recommend the Wii version over this. Even with patching, Win 7 can't handle this port. Speed of movement, graphics, controls, everything is off.

It IS a fun game - in its console versions.

The game is playable I currently have Windows 7 64 bit and there is no glitches or freezing. The game takes time to load, but after it loads it is fine. The graphics are not like in GTA or COD but they are good enough to play.

Only get this game if you a running the slowest most outdated computer that is not on the market. That is correct. Anything past 1Gb of ram and windows xp and you are S.O.L.

It may run once and awhile for people with modern computers but not without crashing, freezing, never ever getting past the main loading screen, and if you somehow make to the game wear you can walk. EVERYTHING is see through.

And to those who think this review is either off or if I am a newb to computers here is my specs. These are not the best or the worst specs out there but are more than than qualified to run this game yet this game still likes to troll. GG Rockstar GG

I got this game on download for about $5.70 from amazon.
I have played the PS2 version before and I really like Scholarship Edition because it offers a litte more in the way of gameplay.
The only down side to this game is the control scheme for pc, I've always been a console and joystick
type of gamer. Also if you dont have a fast pc connection it takes about a day to download this game.
Get a program called Xpadder online, it works with just about PC game and USB controller.

I typically like PC games, even moreso than consoles. However, there comes a point where console games need to be very carefully ported in order to work properly with a keyboard and a mouse as opposed to a control.

Bully doesn't do that, at all. Alt is a massively used key despite being inconvenient to hit and the over all control of the protagonist makes me feel like I'm driving a bar of soap.

This is a great game, but not on the PC.
