Many artists do cover songs but they usually try to change it up because they know they can't recreate the song as good as the original. On this album Dolly performs the songs true to the original and thanks to outstanding players and stellar production these songs are letter perfect. I already have most of these songs on their original albums but this is like breathing new life into them. I never bought a Dolly Parton album before but I'm sure glad I bought this one.

I have heard that people are critical of this record. That is silliness. She got inducted into the rock hall of fame, pushed back on that, and then made it right by releasing this epic record. She did not phone this in. She has a bazillion collaborations on here with all sorts of the biggest names in rock. Each song was tastefully done. I am a rocker through and through. This is a great rock album. Not a gimmick. Give it a listen. If you are open minded. You will probably like it.
