The air hose coupler broke the first day. I've gerry rigged it with duct tape to keep it in place. The adjustable foot that holds down the stock while cutting is really flimsy and bends very easily.

Fairly simple to change blades, but a real vibrator. It has to be bolted down. Since I like to have it portable to conserve work space, I bolted it to a board base that I can clamp to my bench when in use but store on a shelf when not in use.

It works, but I wish I had spent more and got something of higher quality.

I bought this for my classroom because I needed to replace one that died.

It's ok. It works, but there are some things I really dislike about it. First, is that the shoe that holds the stock against the table is thin and flexible and has a tendency to shift out of square with the table unless you really screw it tight. Also, the table insert doesn't sit flush with the table, it's about 1/32 inch below the table. Not a huge deal but annoying.

In conclusion, if you're on a budget this will work, but I kind of wish I'd spent more to buy a nicer, heavier one.

As usual Amazon shipping could not have been better. Product was as described only better the product description failed to note that cutting depths longer than 16" can be made by turning the blade perpendicular to the arm. Once I disconnected all of the "OSHA" safety trash* and the non-functioning dust blower and threw it all away it was almost ready to go. I built a wooden base for it and padded it with some rubber shelf liner material and locked it down in my "Workmate 225". Some vibration is apparent at 1500 spm but that is to be expected. Speeds somewhere in the mid range works good for 1/4" to 3/4" pine and 1/2 birch plywood. The speed control helps for tight inside cuts.

*Removing the cover on the right side makes blade changes mush easier. Hope this helps.

As has been mentioned by other reviewers already, this thing vibrates like mad (bolt it down or attach it to a scroll saw stand), has a really flimsy material fork (no solution for this yet), and the insert is a little shallow putting it below the table about 1/32" (build up some masking tape on the underside of the insert to raise it a bit). In addition, the knob that holds the material fork in place vibrates loose really easily (took the safety shield off as it gets in the way of viewing for fine work any how and that helped), the blade goes out of square with the table easily (just keep an eye on it and reset it every so often), and the table only really tilts in one direction making certain bevels more difficult ( reverse trace the pattern on the back and cut the material upside down)

In short, I wish I had spent a little more and gotten something a shade better.

Thought this would be the cat's meoww when it came down to my finishing touch work, cutting small pieces of stock, etc.
Well it vibrates so much that the stop which holds the work piece keeps coming loose. U have to constantly adjust your work piece due to the vibrations in the unit.Again like anything else you get what you pay for.Wish i had my money back.

At 70 years old I should know better, I have always bought high quality tools to last a lifetime. But I needed a fretting saw for a one-time job that I volunteered to do at our local Museum. I didn't need to buy yet another tool that I know will outlive me. Well this tool didn't even last the life of the project. I was cutting diamond shaped mounting holes in 1 inch thick wood (a tough task but the saw advertises the ability to cut up to 1 1/2 inch stock). I was going slow and easy, but the the blades kept cavitating and then snapping off the small mounting pins on the bottom of each saw blade. I went through a whole packet of new blades. Then, with all the blade changing and mounting of cutting blocks, the yellow tensioning knob (on the rear of the upper arm) broke at the point that the set pin goes through the adjustment bolt. Now I have to loosen/tighten the the blade tension using a small vice-grip. I abandoned this saw and finished the job using a 1/8 inch band saw blade. A complete waste of my money, and more importantly of my time.

Its a scroll saw priced right and the shipping from amazon is great, but the saw is really worthless if you want to create high quality scrolls, and since I don't know anyone who wants to make junky pieces, noone should buy this saw. It is a cheap tool and you get what you pay for. I own it and tried a couple of pieces with it but they didn't turn out good, it really doesn't make it possible to stay right on the line and that just amounts to wasted wood. Maybe someone with considerably more skill could do better than me, but I'm gonna cut my losses and buy a better one

After I ordered this Rockwell I read the reviews and wish I had maybe ordered a better one. However after receiving it and using it I am more than pleased with my choice. To lessen the vibration I put it on 3 pieces of vibration damper and it is perfect. I do a lot of scroll saw work and this saw is perfect in all respects for me. I would highly recommend it to anyone. My last scroll saw lasted 25 years ( another brand) but I'm sure this one will last longer than I will. My son & grandson will enjoy it too after me.
